-Personal Info-
I am a seventeen year old Uni student. I don't have much money and I love finding cheap and somewhat organic ways to treat my face. I have combo skin. Sensitive, oily in my T zone when moisturizer is applied, pores in my nose/inner cheeks, whiteheads in my outer cheeks, then there are the horrible purple/brown scars on my cheekbones, where I breakout the most. Before, I thought picking my acne was right and I never looked into how to treat it, but I learned eventually and now my skin is rapidly looking better.
-Daily Regimine-
Almost every weekday, I go to school. I start out by exfoliating, in warmer/hot water to open my pores, with a hypoallergenic, non scented neutrogena facial cleanser. It's a orange colored/opaque bar.
I then rinse with cold water and apply a toner. (I use a homemade one for acne/scars, I used a clean travel sized bottle, filled it halfway with Apple Cider Vinegar then the rest with cooled down Green Tea. It may sting a bit and yes, it is a bit smelly but it goes away with scents of other creams/makeup)
I pat the toner on my face and wait for it to dry *Always apply with clean hands* I then pat on Neutrogena Anti Wrinkle Cream with SPF 15. Use any moisturizer you'd like, I do use this because it improves the texture of my skin, it protects my skin and has vitamins. I also would like to prevent wrinkles.
I proceed with my makeup, I do like full coverage and I feel it hasn't ruined my skin, but I use a BB Cream instead of foundation, water based concealer for my scars and mineral powder to finish.
When I come home in the afternoon, I immediately remove my makeup with Olay Body Wash. I know this may not be good, it may clog my pores because it is a heavy cream but I don't like makeup removers and I can't afford baby wipes to wipe it off.
But I then exfoliate again like in the morning, afterwards I rinse with warm water instead of cold.
This is because I then wash my face with a bit of Baking Soda and a pea sized amount of acne cleanser. Find anykind with either Salcylic Acid or Benzoyl Peroxide. I mix them in my hands and rub over my whole face. This minimizes my pores, prevents acne, eliminates my white and blackheads and removes acne scars. I swear by this. I then rinse with cold water.
I apply another toner (I like to use another one I've made, in another bottle fill halfway with freshly squeezed lemon and halfway with mineral water. It will sting and itch but it bleaches your scars naturally and minimizes oil, reduces acne and cleanses pores. DO NOT wear into the sun, it will darken your skin if you do)
I then apply an acne type of cream. I acquired a Snail Extract cream from my mom once, I thought it was all bull but I decided to try it. It does actually improve texture, moisturizers and clears acne/irritation/scars. You can use basic moisturizer if you'd prefer. I find this Snail Extract cream to work. I then apply Aveeno Daily moisturizer on top to lock it all in. I use that method when I am going to stay home for the rest of the day.
Before bed time, I exfoliate again. I apply either toner and then I apply my wrinkle creams, and Snail Extract Cream (it also helps with wrinkle prevention) and Aveeno on top.
I feel this routine of mine has dramatically improved my skin and scars. It feels better, looks brighter, is cleaner and softer. Try customizing it, but I strongly recommend keeping the key ideas of:
Exfoliating
Lemon and ACV/Green Tea toners
Baking soda/Acne Cleanser Scrub
Snail Extract cream.
I do also use weekly masks of:
Salt and Honey
Salt and Toothpaste
Milk and Egg
Yogurt and Tomato
If you have any other questions/curiosities let me know!
