For I myself, was soooo incredibly close but I made the Choice to Commit for 3 months! ( and so should you) :)
Short Background: Hi names Alan, and acne has controlled my life for about 4 years now.
I started having acne like everyone in highschool, nothing crazy maybe about 2-5 small zits on my face
at any given time. I of course used proactive for about 2 years with little to no results. It helped but never completely
gave me clear skin!! :( Anyways so i graduate and now start college and my face gets worse with time.
It has increasingly gotten worse and worse and before i started the regimen I was on the Murad System for 2 weeks
and it got my face and acne to a level I never wanna be on again!! Almost like 20-25 zits on my face and I went online
ordered Dans Products Right away.
The Motivation: Havent had clear skin in about 4 years. Acne affects me sooooooo much. I used to have perfect skin and now i cant look in the mirror. Ive been missing out on my life for reals. Soo many missed parties, and events, and outings Ive missed
because of this. Im tired of saying No and want to keep acne out of my life for good! I dont want to be thinking about
my acne 24/7 and not being able to look at someone face to face! I recently even quit my job because I cudnt stand going
to work with my awful skin, especially beacsue I was face to face with customers all day. Also i met the prettiest
girl ive ever seen (before my skin problems) and we went out and had a great night and weve been talking every night
but theres no way I can go out with my current look. I know I shouldnt let that get to me, but it really does
affect me soo much. And I hope I can gain some support through my Journey to clear skin by June 30 2012!!
( Im now on my 3rd week, so ill try and remember what my beginning stages were)
Week 1: Face is at worse stage with about 20 active pimples and feeling horrible.
Right after my first application It felt good and in my desperation i started out with the full length BP
Bumps starting to feel alittle less irritated.
Week 2: OMG DRYNESS FLAKING!!!!!! decided to exfoliate with a scrub with is the WORST idea ever Major Breakout!
SOOO close to quitting!!! Please dont ever start out with the full amount!!
Skin continues to clear BUT i had a breakout!! feeling really bad!!
Decided to stop BP for one day and continue next day with half a finger.
( Switched cleanser & moisterizer to Cetaphil Brand, helped alot with dryness and i Recommend greatly!)
Week 3: Sooo ever since reducing the BP the dryness is bad but not as bad, Flaking is greatly reduced but still there.
Now have maybe 12 active zits, rest are going down and continuing to clear. yay
Please start off slow!! and learn from my mistakes!
( ok now im on my current week and i will update as often as i can)
Week 4: Continuing my Cetaphil cleanser, FULL finger BP, and Cetaphil moisterizer. (my dryness has gone down alot)
Still dealing with my breakout from the exfoliation! But Besides that ive had about 3 small zits.
BP really does work and when I do get a zit they are small and go away super fast!
Total Active Zits: 6 but still plently of old red marks that are starting to fade!! HUGE difference from 20 four weeks ago.
Looking forward to the next 2 months and hopefully i stay on track!
Feeling like The Regimen is finally now on Full Force and Working :)
Will Likely Order The AHA in about 2 weeks to see if it helps with the flakes and the "Glow" of the Skin
Tips Through the First Month: START SLOW! please follow Dans Advise
If Your skin is super dry, reduce the BP and start it up again slowly!
Stay Patient!! hardest part but stick with it and have faith it will get better because it does!
DO NOT exfoliate, I know the Flakes are unbearable but being rough will break you out.
If anything, to combat the flakes try cleaning with a tad bit more pressure, just a tiny bit more than Dan
recommends, but be amazingly gently over your active bumps!! ( gentle is the key in the regimen! )
Do not miss an application! i did once and bam new zit. Remember 10-12 hours apart!
When your feeling down in the beginning, just think about how your fighting for clear skin and
being patient and sticking with this will get you there! Im here if you need any advise!! :)

WEEK 5: I finish up week 5 tomorrow and ive been pretty happy with this week overall. I did just get 3 new actives but they are small and i know exactly why!
The past two days i only did the regimen once a day due to falling asleep lol. NOT a good idea, for im paying the price now but not too bad.
Sooo my forehead is more calm and my old bumps are going down slowly. My temple area where i had like 6 zits is now pretty much flat and nothing going on there anymore. Both my checks which are clear of active acne, and no new ones are forming for past weeks now my chin which had like 4 actives now only has that 1 new one, and the others are flat and going away slowly. KEYWORD slowly lol ummm by my nose i had like 4 actives and they are now flater and dying down. Basically everything is somewhaat flat and not irritated except for my 3 new managable ones.
Sooo it may seems like things are looking up, which they are, especially since i have all of may and june still for my 3 month trail. BUT the dryness and flakiness is sooooo bad!! its almost as bad as having acne beacuse it keeps me from going out right now and soft hydrated skin is only a thing of the past now!
I hatee flakes! even though i know it should go away eventually as my skin gets used to the full bp amount.
Some things Im going to change to help with my flakes this week are:
1: faster cooler showers. From 40 minutes to 10 minutes.. about 90 degrees to 75 lol crazy i know
2. cleanse a tad bit rougher, dont worry no scrubbing just a bit more pressure, it helped in the past. will still keep it under 10 seconds.
3. MORE WATER
4. Going down on my bp just a tiny bit. From super generous finger to generous finger. Hope it makes a difference lol
5. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY!!! experimenting and switching from Cetaphil Moisterizing lotion to 2 pumps DANS lotion with 6 drops DANS jojoba plus reapllication if i still feel dry an hour after the regimen.
Hope this works and i can continue to clear up while the terrible flaking can ease up on me!!
Week 6 update will be extremely interesting!!

But first ill explain how my facee held up. Soo starting the week i had semi clear cheeks, a couple actives on my chin, forehead, and some lingering bumps on my temple areas. Plus the dryness and flaking was at an all time worse. I experimented with drinking more water, shorter baths, and more cleansing and nothing worked!
Except for AHA which ive been using for a couple days and really has helped with flakes and dryness. I use it at night ( sometimes everynight, still figuring out what works best) and when i wash in the morning skin feels newer and smoother. Hopefully that continues Soo i may have found my flake cure which made my week a huge success besides contined clearing. Soo my temple bumps went down alot and now i have 1 regular size mark/dying zit on my right temple. Besides that my sides are clear of any new or lingering acne. My cheeks stayed clear of breakouts and i have 2 tiny old bumps on my left side which fade away more and more everyday.
The zit i had on my chin is now gone and i even got another one but it too is gone super fast thanks to bp and aha combo. My my nose area i had like 4 bad zits which are now fading but still noticable, and this week there was another bump on the other side of my nose which tried coming up but im battling it lol and i hope it goes down before it gets any bigger. Soo from my eyes down im super happy! BUT my forehead is still the stubborn child. My old bumps stay forever there and the past 3 days i had not gotten any new breakouts and my old ones were going down but guess what? had a minor breakout this morning sigh** IM STILL happy with my overall forehead progress though! And i forget im barely in my 6 week! i still have ALL of May and June.. and its only been 3 days of may soo that thought gives me some relief!
My goal is for my forehead to be completely flat and non irratated by the end of may.. and my whole face by june hopefully
Soo to expalin the forehead situation....Beginning the week i had a HUGE zit and maybe 4 small ones on my left side of my forhead. I was scared if i should pop the big one but knew i had to wait it out and apply aha on it. But honestly nothing was making it go down and i was kinda sad but now its almost completely flat and im soooo happy i decided to be gentle. The 4 small ones have also died down but i woke up this morning to a new small one trying to come out i applied AHA and im sure it will never come up.. soo happy about that! the center of my forehead is really good and clear but my right side is now the only tiny part of my whole face which i need to address and let know whos boss. Beginning the week i had about 4 suckers and 1 biggg one near my hairline. Happy to say 3 smaller ones have gone down and faded,1 still lingers around but its gets smaller everyday, and the big one now is compeletly flat. BUT this morning i woke up to 2 new zits one near my brow which is small, and another medium size one alittle higher. They were not there last night and early detection for spot treating with AHA is super important to help it go away fast. Soo im hoping my spot treating today and tomorrow can get rid of it completely before my next update!!
But overall im extremely happy and alot of "Good" happened in just one week. I hope things continue to get better as i approach my 8-10 weeks which i should be alot more clearer but not all the way clear. ill be done with 10 weeks right when may in over soo i got a long time to go goodluck and stick with it!!
