Hello! I had some bad acne this winter but now i seem to have got hold of most of it. I still get whiteheads but not near as much as before.
My cheeks were the most affected area and now it almost got no head there at all. I've got red marks on my cheeks which i have been treating gently and they're fading! However i noticed that some of my marks have become lighter and more intense in color, like if there was a layer with skin on them before which is now gone. Is that what it is? Skin exfoliating exposing the underlaying marks more clearly? That would be a
part of the healing progress then?

Thank you in advance for your answer! Posted Image

I would say that you would be spot on here. Those red marks are usually going to cover more than one layer of skin, which is why it can take them a while to heal. They are likely being exposed more now due to exfoliation, definitely part of the healing process. Personally, I exfoliate every day with a wash cloth without having any problems to keep any dead skin cells off of my face.
