Acne scars 2

Acne scars 1

Hey everyone, I'm a 17 year old girls, who's had acne for 7 years now...I've tried so many methods to help me get rid of them but nothing has worked. I was put on Retin a, but it left a dark mark itself which is still there after two weeks :S I recently had a HUGE break out near my eyebrows and my left cheek...the scars are red and angry. Some are dark/brown spots. I didn't think much of them until I was looking out the window and there was a mirror and I saw my skin in natural light. They're horrible Posted Image I just want to get rid of them Posted Image Thank you all in advance.

Hi Lostgirl, You have to do whatever it is that makes you happy in life. You might think I have no idea what makes me happy, but there will be something, sport was it for me. It made me feel better about myself and that meant less stress which meant less breakouts. I feel so sorry for you feeling down right now, but you can turn it around. Good luck

Noone notices spots so don't worry. It's horrible for self esteem but eventually you just have to look past the spots until you're comfortable with yourself. The worst thing to do is let it get to you because then it starts to take over. I'm the same, I try to avoid mirrors at home and before I go out but I catch a glimpse of myself in stupid mirrors maybe in a clothes shop or something and I just crumble and want to go home. I had acne last year and I tried zineryt, a topical solution. Worked wonders and cleared everything up within 2 months. I was left with red marks but they faded a little after. I became immune to it eventually and stupidly didn't do what I was told and go on a new product to continue after because I thought it was a phase when the acne was coming back. Big mistake. But I really do recommend that, as long as after 6 months your move onto a new cream to match zineryt, your doctor will help you with that. I really hope you find something that works, I know what you're going through. You're young remember, it won't always be like this, there's plenty of people who have evidence of that, keep smiling :)

Hi there, i can relate. sometimes i check my skin every hour in the mirror just to see if its improving. i tried taking zinc and vitamin C to no avail :S red marks suck. i dont get much acne, but they leave a scar which takes months to go away so i look like i always have acne :(

though its hard, just try to count your blessings. its tough, but well, theres nothing we can really do and pray we outgrow it in time. (I'm 27 already and had acne since 12. when will this stop?!?!)

if it really gets to you, MAYBE you can discuss roaccutane with your doctor. i took it five years ago and it worked wonderfully. :) but then it came back now and i'm back on these boards again ugh. but its significantly less.

Hey, I'm going through this same problem and I think the best thing to do is to prevent new pimples and let these scars heal with time to not irritate even more your skin, which can worsen the condition and take a longer time for the red marks to go away. I think my skin a little more red than yours and I don't use anything to cover up, not even my hair.
