hey all

well im in a pretty bad place now. i have started the regimen and i am on week 2 or so. i follow the routine the best i can using dans products. at the start it seemed to be working well and ive managed to use the full dosage without my sking being that bad. its a bit dry but thats normal i guess. im at a bad stage at the moment and i feel like giving up. the other morning i got 3 massive spots on my chin that were the ones under your skin but really inflamed? they killed me and there so red. this really got me down because my skin wasnt no way near as that bad before and now i have red marks galore and a sore chin were i never had this problem before? could it be the bp? i just dont know if its worth putting this on my face just to make it worse? please help i dont know what to do?

After a 3 month long break from BP, I am also on week 2 of the regimen and feel like crying.

I have pimples in places I don't ususally get them, and they're painful. My skin is also very dry this time around, and quite dull looking and just troubled :(

I honestly don't remember it being this bad before, but I do know that up until my dermatologist prescribed something else (which didn't work) 3 months ago, I had clear skin with like 2 spots at any given time at the most, thanks to BP. So it works. But I guess in some cases it gets a bit worse before it gets better.

Hang in there. But if symptoms persist, you may be looking at an allergy rather than your skin getting accustomed to BP. In which case you would have to quit and consult a demratologist about fixing the damage.

Good luck!

yeh i understand what your saying there im just at a cross roads now on weather to leave it and let my skin do its own thing natural or continue. i just cant see the point in my face getting worse than it already was. if i was to stop now after two weeks do you know if my face would get worse? thanks for your posts though im glad theres other people out there going through the same thing that can share with me.

hey guys, since all of you are in the beginning stages of the regimen let me tell all of you to hang in there. the first few months are going to be the worst for you. but stick it out. things definitely do get worse before they get better. your skin is purging everything out of it. you're going to break out in places you never usually do. but these new breakouts should clear faster than they would before you were on the regimen. the regimen takes a lot of patience, but don't quit! i wanted to quit so many times.

Sl1990- what kind of regimen did you have before starting dan's? have you used BP before?

I'll echo whatthekell. Hang in there you guys. Some breakouts are expected in the first few weeks. Be super gentle with your skin, and very generous with BP, and follow The Regimen to the T and you can expect your skin to get better and better.

Not doing anything rarely works, let me tell you. And quitting prematurely will likely just send you on a continued wild goose chase of trying other stuff that won't work. The Regimen does work, but you just have to stick with it and follow it precisely. Keep us posted...

thanks so much for your replys guys it really does help! whatthekell i have never been on any regiment before. and never used bp. my problem is that im a soldier serving in Afghanistan and i think my bad breakout started due to the dusty conditions and sweating alot. i sort of believe that when i return to the u.k it should improve because i wont be sweating and my back wont be irritated by body armour what do you think? i have lots of small white bumps on my face too which i believe is clogged pores? any help would be brilliant thanks!

thanks dan for your reply its good to know your on here helping :) ill keep you informed

oh wow! my boyfriend was in afghanistan 2 yrs ago. good luck to you!

if you've never used BP before, then you especially need to start off slowly since your face isn't used to it. I believe dan's BP is the strongest i've ever used. aside from 10% BP's that just do nothing but burn your face off. so start off slowly and let your skin adjust. in your situation it's hard because you're constantly sweating and active, but you're doing the best you can. i'm sure once you're finished and home, things will be easier =)

you're still too new to introduce the AHA. i think they say wait til 5 weeks or so. it's very irritating though so be careful if you use it and test a small area.

the little bumps are probably clogged pores. if these don't come to the surface eventually, when you use AHA that might help with that. once you've been on the regimen a while, they should stop. i still get little ones on my chin that drive me crazy so i'm trying some clearasil pads to help with that.

for now, just stick to the basic 3 step regimen and make sure you're doing it twice a day and at least 10-12 hours apart. moisturize well. just keep clean, i know it's hard especially where you are. then eventually if you feel the need for AHA, give it a shot, but like i said apply it to a small area first. =)

If you're going to use BP, you should use it together with Tetracyclines (antibiotics). That's the most effective non-Isotretinoin way to do it.

The BP kills the acne bacteria from the skin and the Tetracycline prevents the bacteria from multiplying in your blood.
