Last summer from june - september I was taking 100mg minocycline everyday. I am starting to regret not wearing sunscreen during that time because I am starting to see fine lines on my forehead. They're hardly noticable to other people, but I am wondering if these are normal? The lines are wear I would normally "wrinkle" more forehead if I were to raise my eyebrows, but then when I am not, I can see afew very fine lines...

Has anyone else NOT put sunscreen on while taking an antibiotic and is noticing a similar problem?

and am I just being overly anxious about my skin? (my skin as a whole, bothers me, as it does all of us on this forum, so maybe I am just worrying about nothing)...

anyone else see "fine lines" on their skin from "expression wrinkles" and are in your EARLY 20s?

thanks =]

I have a really wrinkley forehead and Im 26! I'm convinced its from the use of antibiotics and not protecting my skin during the summers (I was young and dumb). I also think BP played a role. It's sad.

I have been on numerous antibiotics for almost four years and I have never used sunscreen. In that time I have sunbathed and been in the sun lots of times. Probably suffering now.

You should always wear sunscreen unless you want to prematurely age your skin. Believe me, you'll regret it when you're older. The danger with antibiotics is that they may make you more susceptible to sunburn which can put you at greater risk of skin cancer, aside from the premature aging issue.

I took antibiotics for a year and rarely wore sunscreen. For that year I was red/burnt looking the entire time and my skin was constantly dry and felt disgusting. I can see that its given me some nasty marks on my face that have yet to disappear (which are apparently only noticable to me? whatever, thats what matters).

Anyway, dont think you can get away with that either, you NEED to wear sunscreen when youre on antibiotics or youll find yourself burnt and looking ten times worse than you do with acne, trust me.

After 6 months off of them and any BP product my skin was back to normal, so it does go away, it just takes time.

It may have contributed, but some wrinkles in your twenties is normal. You really can't expect no aging to occur...even if you wore sunscreen 24/7 all the time the effects of years of gravity would still make your skin sag :)
