Hello all, Im on accutane 40mg week 2. My skin is flaky particularly on my face. I am using aveeda moisturizing body wash, cetaphil body lotion, and neutrogena oil free moisturizer. I wear laura mercer foudnation- and it looks gross and flaky. Any suggestions?

I've been using Clinique's tinted mositurizer. It is a light coverage but still a better coverage than I have seen with drug store tinted moisturizers. I haven't been able to locate any liquid foundation that doesn't end up looking flaky after a couple hours but I haven't exactly been trying either. I've got a few brands at home (covergirl, clinique, estee lauder, etc..) and they all seem to end up flaky.
I tried to find the Clinique stuff online. They had another kind. I got mine when I purchased other stuff so I'm not completely sure how to find it.

Try coconut oil - I sometimes put it all over my face and it stays moisturized longer than a normal moisturizer.
I use Bare Minerals - it's a powder but doesn't make me look as cracked and gross as liquid foundation used to. (I don't use the big, fat brush because the bristles irritate my skin. I use a "maximum coverage" flat brush because it puts the makeup on without scratching my face all over.)
If you use concealer, there is a brand called Mally that has a really good concealer kit and it works nice on problem areas without getting too dry or too oily.

I use Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief on my face, and it works wonders! I just cover my face and neck with it, let it dry, and I apply my makeup like I have always done and it makes my skin look "normal" again. If you don't use much makeup you can also put this moisturizer ontop of your makeup if you get dry throughout the day and it doesn't make your makeup look clumpy or gross.

Dry patches make my makeup look gross too! Besides exfoliating (by gentle means) I usually up my moisturizing lotion on those parts of my face. The Clinique Moisture Surge is really good. Ole Henriksen sheer transformation creme is what I like the best. It has natural ingredients that suppress pigmentation over time. It is like a moisturizer-face primer and creates a nice smooth surface over the dry patch. Makeup goes on really well and after a couple days the flakes are gone. It's a bit expensive but I bought a sample size jar (which is still pretty big) off the bay and just use it where I need it.

Hey
)
I have had the dry flaky problem recently to. I went to the shop and got help from the revlon lady who advised almay TLC. It has spf 15, is hypo allergenic and feels light and nice. When I tried this in the shop I got discouraged because I put it on like I normally would, wiping it over my face. The women there said that that is why my skin is looking more flaky, took the make up off and showed me how just using my fingers to dab it on worked sooooo much better. It takes longer but my skin wasn't flaky at all and it lasted way long. I'm not sure if everyone actually does already dab their make up on or not, but if not give it a try.
Good luck!

Burt's Bees Sensitive Skin moisturizer was my HG while on Accutane. Used alone at night. Used 100% Pure Pomegranate with spf during the day. I never had a flaky face using this =)

Hi there, I used to work for both MAC and Bobbi Brown, so I can advise anyone with makeup questions here... and I can honestly say that Moisture Rich foundation from BB has been my saviour. I never would have worn it 6 months ago but now it is just the perfect balance. It's not super greasy at all. And Bobbi Brown has the BEST color range. No lies. Her skincare is pretty damn good as well. I never had any sensitivity issues with it. It's just a but expensive to buy so I stopped using it after I had my twins and had to leave the company.
As a moisturiser , I've been using Simple Skincare Replenishing Moisturiser and loving it! Not sure if you can get it back in the States though. But if you are from the UK and you have a Home Bargains store near you, go in and stock up, it's only £1.99 there. I've been using the moisturising foaming facewash as well. It's
Not been stripping my face of moisture even though it's a foaming one.
Hope this helps anyone! Message me if anyone
Has questions about anything beauty related and I will try to help you.

I just went to Belk and got a sample for Clinique's Moisture Surge and it was wonderful. Not a single dry flake.
