Do you eat fruits and vegetables often?

So you don't eat noodles, or rice?

Normally I would eat wheat noodles or brown rice. But I'm vietnamese and sometimes eat Pho and other noodles with simple carbs. I don't eat too much at once though just cause it'll cause an increase in insulin. I don't really bother to eat fruits or veggies much, I just take multivits. If you're gonna eat something, try to avoid too much fruit cause they contain alot of sugar, but veggies are perfect.

I've discovered that Kefir and Yogurt really are good for the absorbtion of EFAs and nutrients, have you tried those?

I've discovered that Kefir and Yogurt really are good for the absorbtion of EFAs and nutrients, have you tried those?

I used to until I found out that those don't really help as much as you think....like i said with my initial post, it's just a matter of what food you avoid that causes breakouts that will help. Some people have different foods that can trigger it which they will need to discover and experiment. But generally, those foods I mentioned can affect most people.

Yeh, it's best if you avoid carbs completely, but It's too tough and I'm not gonnna go without it since I need those extra calories since I workout.

I forgot to mention that Creatine and maybe other workout supplements can cause acne as well...at least for me.

Yes they mess with your hormones (increase your testerone levels). Acne is a hormonal thing and what we put in our body affects our hormones.

The western lifestyle is one big mess up on the hormones haha. The good thing is we have some control and can improve our skin.

What breaks you out most? DAIRY is my big culprit.

Hi Tien, I'm so glad to see Vietnamese people on this forum, since I am confused and not familiar with all the food name and products mentioned. Do you speak Vietnamese, can you tell me the name of these food in vietnamese, I have acne just like yours (you used to have) and I really want to clear them up.

Fruit contains sugar but it will not give you a sugar spike if you only eat like one piece at a time, which is what most people do. Fruit juice on the other hand will if you drink more then 125ml at one time (this is even the case for the good stuff with no added sugar).

Right now I'm working on the candex supplement + candida diet to help prevent acne.

I also use a cerave hydrating cleanser, and after washing, i would mix lemon juice + rose water, and apply that to my face for 15-30 minutes, and then wash it off. Then apply Aubrey Organics Aloe Vera as the moisturizer. It works to help reduce redness too. LJ + RW works to exfoiliate your skin, and lighten scars. Lemon juice also helps remove blackheads, and has sort of help treat those deep inflamed acne too by drying them out.

I've recently added the Marie Veronique Organic acne treatment kit to my regime. I had used it before (about 2 months ago), but i stopped using it because I'm an idiot because I actually added SA after a month of using MVO (because I felt like I needed to exfoliate), and I broke out pretty bad after adding that in , and then for some reason i completely stopped using MVO all together. I should have just used lemon juice + rosewater with MVO...oh well. lesson learned i guess.

ANYWAY, MVO is good, at least for me, however, the kit is REALLY expensive..it includes all a lot of natural oils like tea tree oil that help fight existing acne, and help bring out congested acne that you dont see. This has also helped my overall complexion. If you have oily skin, i suggest trying it. You're basically fighting oil-acne prone skin with oil. So think, fighting fire with fire..But the downside of using it..is that there is a **possible** initial breakout in the first week or two before it gets better..And it should get better within a month

i still need to work things out internally to help prevent the acne, but I still have yet to see if the Candex Supplement is helping. When I was taking MVO, my acne cleared within a month, but i would still get some smaller break outs, but i think that is because i needed to fix my diet, which I'm doing now.

Also my diet varies day to day, but I'll usually go to chipotle and get a salad bowl, and sometimes i'll get brown rice, with more veggies, chicken, mild salsa, guac, and more shredded veggies. If not, i'll go to other places and try to order food mainly consisting of chicken/beef and veggies.

I also make a green vegetable juice with kale, spinach, cilantro, cucumber, ginger, celery, and lemon.

Curious about the lentils. Do you know your blood type? Are you type B?


I am trying not to use anything medicated while I pursue the dietary/holistic approach. Right now I cleanse twice daily with Neutrogena sensitive foaming wash and I moisturize with Glytone balancing lotion.

This sounds expensive and if it works and stays consistent with acne free, let me know. However, the way I set my diet and what I use to wash my face etc and how I deal with things is specifically for me because I've tested many types of food and whether or not they cause acne for me.

I have been eating pretty bad this past 2 weeks such as fried foods etc and my skin is showing it. I've also got cystic acne from eating so much junk food. I've also timed how long it would take for me to get rid of certain types of acne and cystic acne takes about 2-3 weeks for me to get rid of when i stick with my diet. I know it sucks to have to eat healthy to keep a good skin when your friends eat out everyday. I'll let you guys know when I am able to get rid of these new acne completely once they are gone.

Curious about the lentils. Do you know your blood type? Are you type B?

I do not know what my blood type is sorry.
