i've been prescribed doxycycline for 2 months starting tomorrow. i know it's bad to drink alcohol while on an antibiotic. but next month (specifically april 14), i'd like to have at least one small alcoholic drink at a birthday party im going to. i thought maybe i just won't take the doxy at all on that day so i won't have any bad side effects with the alcohol. would that be ok?

i think you will be fine and i dont remember reading anything about not being able to drink while take doxy. i have been on doxy for over a year and drank on it a ton of times and everything is fine because i had bloodwork taken to check my liver, kidneys etc so i think you will be ok. i would suggest though getting bloodwork every so often though to make sure everything is ok.
