I had really bad acne scaring when I was younger. I did 20x microdermabrassion treatments and I also did derma-rolling. They reduced the redness, but it's been 5 years since I had acne and I still have scars.

I am wondering if it's worth getting some higher, more expensive surgery for my scars. I wonder if my acne scars are a limiting factor in terms of being attractive.

I'd really appreciate some advice.

I know the answer to this question! Here it comes...

*drum roll*

Those scars are not a limiting factor!

I speak the truth, you know? I'd say the best thing you can do is to just let it go. Posted Image You're an attractive man and that scarring doesn't detract from that to any degree, really. If it affects you psychologically to the point that it's consuming you I'd say just work on letting that go instead of spending hundreds or thousands on some treatment which by the way won't improve your scarring significantly.

6 months, 2mm, copper/zinc/vitamin a/e/c - the whole shizam.

once a month, every month for 6 months. nothing noticable, just minor improvements

Is part of your texture raised or thickened around the pitted areas? It kind of looks so, I am have a bit of that myself. You look like you are in some pretty bad lighting so I'm sure it looks better in other lights. Not sure what will fix it really, perhaps dermabrasion and recell if you can find a doc, I think it would help you a lot!

subcision + fraxel repiar would be your best bet imo. Visit a qualified derm (or two) that performs everything (tca cross, subcision, peels, fraxel, various other lasers etc.) and get their opinion.

Actually on second thought i would recommend against the laser as it seems to have a high failure rate. Your complexion looks fine anyways, and that's what it's for. You just need subcision + suction (definitely look into this), and if that doesn't fix it up completely then you can go for some fillers every 4-6 months. New ones are constantly being developed including stem cell fillers (laviv), so between subcision + fillers you should do really well.

I guess it must be annoying to have leftover scars after acne but arent you glad you dont get active acne anymore? To me its not the scars which are unattractive its the bright red spots or raised pimples. be glad you dont have those :-) Only you can decide if you want to do more cosmetically but honestly I think you look pretty good they way you are!

Your scars don't look bad at all! You are an attractive person too. So keep your head up and smile :)

Fraxel Re:pair at the top intensity is needed on your cheeks, and it will require multiple treatments. The rest of your face looks good. The cheek area is the most difficult area to treat. Keep an eye on the new laser SCAAR FX. I have no studies on it yet.
