A few months ago I was diagnosed by my derm with Perioral dermatitis due to a little spot on my chin. Within the last few weeks that one spot has spread across my whole chin and around and under my nose - it's really lovely. I have just started antibiotics (which I hate to do but nothing else was working) but all my cleansers feel too harsh at the moment.

Normally I use Purpose or Clean & Clear cleanser for senstitive skin but I'm looking to get away from anything with sulfates, parabens and all that other harmful stuff - particularly since SLS is known to cause/aggravate PD. (I also need gluten-free due to Celiac disease.) I don't like Cetaphil (which has SLS anyway) and I just tried Dr. Bronner's baby mild soap and even it feels too harsh. I tried putting calendula cream (california baby brand) on my PD and it burns like crazy so even things that are supposed to be soothing are anything but right now.

Is there anything out there even more gentle than what I've already mentioned, does anyone have any suggestions?

TIA!!!

Dan's cleanser doesn't have BP in it....only the treatment does.

I use Avene Cleananse Gel Soapless Cleanser.
It has a pH of 5,00 +/- 0.3
It's also hypoallergenic and non comedogenic.
The ingrediants are listed here http://www.avene.co....ss-Gel-Cleanser
If you wanna check them out!

Try Target generic brand Up & Up Oil-Free Acne Wash. It's $3.50 for a 6 oz. bottle, and it works harder for your money than Neutrogena.

Or try the up & up Gentle Skin Cleanser for Sensitive Skin at $6.99 for 16 oz.

Try Leahlani Skincare Honey Mask and Cleanser. It is very simple and gluten free, does not leave your skin dry. The product is very soft on my skin. Does have essential oils of lavender, and camomile.

I have been using Paula's Choice Skin Recovery cleanser for years. It's pH 5.5 and a non-foaming creamy texture that rinses off and doesn't leave my skin feeling tight or stripped.

If you wanted to see if it works for you, there are samples on her site (and I believe free shipping with just sample orders).

Good luck!

ETA - Oops! I just saw this was months old. Sorry!

I am brand new to this board and literally received Dans products a few days ago, I have been using a facial cleanser by 'Simple', simple are a british brand and specalise in sensitive skin, their 'Refreshing kind to skin' facial wash is fantastic, very gentle, its a clear gel, has no perfume or colour and has like 9 ingrediants which arent harsh chemicals. Highly recommended!
