Hi everyone, I am currently on my 10th day of accutane, here are my side effects so far:
Dry skin
Mood swings (go from super hyper to bored and tired)
Laziness
Sore back (minor)

Recently when I go to the bathroom it hurts to get it out, but after that the pain subsides. When I wipe there is a bit of blood. I have read that this is just due to the drying around the rectal area, should I be worried?

No, this sounds fairly normal, if a bit quick to be experiencing this after just over a week. You will need to get some facial and body moisturiser and should apply once/twice daily to pre-empt flaky irritable skin. Also get some Carmex or Blistex for your lips which you should apply every few hours. Soreness I just deal with by sleeping it off or taking some Nurofen or something. In terms of mental issues it's hard to tell whether it's just your natural hormones or the medication - no way around this that I have found.

Also, drink lots and lots of water! As much as you can. When you are hydrated, your skin will feel healthier and less achy, and your mood will improve.

I don't mean to scare you, but rectal bleeding and pain in the abdominal area is a sign of Crohns Disease, which is a rare side effect of accutane. I would stop medication and report that to your derm ASAP.

The rectal bleeding is due to your skin being dry and thin when on accutane, and your stool being too hard. (experienced the same thing when i started my course don't worry) Drink more water and up your intake of fiber. I'd suggest some milled flax seed, couple tablespoons everyday in the morning really helps :)
