I am a nineteen year old female. I have had such clear skin my whole life then recently about a month ago i started breaking out around my chin and mouth area. No it is not herpes! I saw a dermatologist who prescribed me minocycline 100 mg once a day. Ive been on for about a week and my skin has gotten WORSE. Is there an initial breakout? Any thoughts welcomed

Yes completely normal.
I was prescribed a long course of minocycline. Within two weeks of starting it- my face broke out so bad. Cystic acne and other bumps. Really though- it's truly an initial breakout stage your experiencing. After the 1-1.5 month mark......
You'll be rejoicing. Trust me!!!!!

the samething is happening to me and i'm so desperate. my skin has nener been this worse in my whole life. And it's not regular acne, it's inflammation or cystic. when it breaks, it's bleeding. i'm really scared right now. the thing is i have done laser treatments, retinol about 2 weeks before i took mino and then i had another laser 2 weeks later. it's been almost a month since i started taking Mino. im suffering a whole series of its side effrects, i have them one by one, first i had bad stomach then dizziness, then depression, then shoulder pain, spiral pain. i'm sooooo frustrated right now. what should i do. i just bought the second bottle. should i continue for another cycle. please give me your advice. please please!!!

I'm on minocycline right now, got worse for the first two weeks and then slowly improved, I'm at week 8 and 1 side of my face has been clear for a few weeks now though the other still has a few persistent actives. So far it's a definite improvement and only really in the last few weeks so it can take a while to kick in... I'd give it 8 weeks to show some improvement before giving up on it.
