I dont know whats going on but ive been on Dan's regimen for about 2 weeks now and i think my acne is getting worst. i've taken pictures and there was some damage after 2 weeks. Broke out like crazy, flaky red skin. Can someone help me out.
I have been consuming more coffee lately but only because i have to wake up at 6:30am. Should i keep sticking to the regimen? I need some advice!

Hey AcneeHater.... I had the same reaction you did on my second week of the regimen... I'm approaching week 4 and am having another crazy breakout... But I think we should both stick it through and see what happens... It seems to be the theme for the first few months, a few steps forward, a few steps back.. Hopefully things will be looking up sooner than you know it... :) Best of luck and keep us updated... You're not alone, we're all in the same struggle with acne together...

Thanks, i approciated it, knowing that there are people struggling wit me. I'll stick wit the regimen, and switching coffee to green tea hoping that would help. Good luck to you too.

Caffeine can trigger an acne break out in some individuals, so experimenting by switching to green tea to see if your breakout lessens is a good idea.

Breakouts on the regimen are to be expected, especially in the first few weeks or so... Just stick with it.

I had the worst breakout of my life 2 weeks after I started the regimen. It was awful but I think it was just bringing everything to the surface. I finally stopped breaking out 2.5 months into it. Dryness went away in month 3. I'm at month 4 now and my face is perfectly smooth and soft, just a bunch of red marks to contend with. Stick with it!

Periodic breakouts after some clearing is normal for the first 4-6 weeks on the regimen. Don't worry. You will notice though that your breakouts clear faster, and become less severe as long as you stick with the regimen precisely as directed by Dan. Good luck. By weeks 7-8 you should be 90-95% clear and no longer be breaking out. Just random pimples here and there, which is to be expected until you eventually grow out of acne.

Try this put 2 full pumps of bp on your face day and night, if you breakout in the morning it's the BP, if you dont that means the BP is working. Then try 2 bp pumps + your mositorizor day and night, if you wake up with breakouts then it's your moisturiozr. Try a new one like cetaphil or ceravea, I tried 2 other moisturizor before and they both breaked me out, even if the bp worked. Also I had tryed out the cleanser but I started breaking... so now I use 2BP pumps and Cetaphil day and night, I go weeks without breakouts. Took me a while to find the right BP and Moisturiozr for me, I dont use a cleanser, I just scrub my face with water in the shower to take of the excess mosituriozr. Cuz if I dont I will get what looks like flakes but it's really just extra moisturizor. I found this out when I realized I had flakes but my skin wasnt dry so it didnt make sense. So I said next time i will scrub my face and wa-laaa no more flakes.

Well my personal regimen is
For Morning - cetaphil gentle cleanser, BP (havent reached 2 full pumps yet) and im pretty sure bp is helping. and cetaphil 50 SPF facial moisterizer
For Night- i would shower, cetaphil gentle cleanser, wait about 10-15mins, bp, and complex 15 or AHA every third day.
So i dont know, i would get that break out sometimes, mayb its that inital breakout. Im about 2.5 weeks in. But i would think the major cause is coffee ="(
Havent had coffee in 3days and no breakouts since but it sucks not having coffee when i really need it to get me up at 6:30am for school =(

My face was the worse it had ever been when I hit week two of starting the regimen, and then I had progressive improvement each week from there.

You may have started using AHA+ a little early though. Its recommended to use after week 4 and once you're pretty much used to the full amount of BP. Maybe keep that in mind if you continue to suffer bad breakouts. It might be because of too much irritation on your skin too early.

well im not using dans aha, im actually using this other one i found at the drug store and its pretty much a night moisterizer, love it and i go easy on that, jsut every third day. i'll start using dan's AHA once i get to the full pumps because i feel dans AHA can be more irritating.

YES!, k i finally figured it out how to avoid flakyness when using spf moisterizer. i have a mixture of 1/2 pump of dan's moisterizer + 1 pump of cetaphil 50spf moisterizer + 4-6 drops of jojoba oil. and it's just amazing. Goes on and stays on.
