Hopefully this is the last thread I make about this ,because i'm ALMOST there (to a clear face)

I have a pigmentation on my nose from when i picked a pimple off in November. It wasn't just a normal squeeze/pop. I literally severed it, and the skin was torn clean off. It was fleshy and pink for a few days, and guess what I did? STILL picked at it. Anyway, it left a blackish spot. And then it turned brown. By january it was lighter brown, and almost faded. But a few weeks ago, I accidentally scratched over it, so it bled a little bit, and it scabbed up. The scab fell off a week ago. And now it's almost back to the way it was a little while ago...

Sorry the picture is upside down.

I've been using bio-oil for 3 days now. Hopefully it'll fade. My goal is to have a clear face by April/May. That would be amazing.

Can anyone tell me if it looks like it's going to fade? Will bio-oil help? Bio oil does not break me out, since i only apply it on that area.

I've never written a review, but I this product worked so amazing for me that I just simply have to share.

I had moderate acne, but started using Dan's Benzyl Peroxide Treatment - after just 3 weeks my skin was NOT breaking out anymore.

The Benzyl definitely works, and the science behind it by creating an aerobic rich environment does NOT let the p.acnes bacteria grow in the pores.. This however is not why I am writing you all..

In September - literally 2 weeks before I started using Dan's products and cleared up my skin, I developed this big pimple on the side of my nose. Was such a bad place to have it as it was so noticeable. It was even more frustrating as all of my acne had cleared but this "spot" that I had developed left a big deep / bright red mark literally on the side of my nose. Weeks and weeks did not fade, and I even tried cover-up (which even more embarrassing cos I'm a male). Believe it or not, weeks turned into months, and it simply would not fade. I did it all, lemon juice, using AHA's such as the Dan product available, and in mid January I even went as far as buying 4% Hydroquinone to treat that spot and it still did nothing. If anything, made it worse cos it almost looked luminous!

5 days ago, I was getting so frustrated. I have been avoiding going out and to public gatherings, cos this spot just looked so bad, bright and damn noticeable. I looked online again, cos I have a public speech in 4 weeks time, and there is no way I can just step up with this thing on my nose and talk..

I've never used "commercial products" before - but read some reviews on this product: Clinique Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector.

The reviews were quite mixed, and at this stage, I'd try anything to get rid of or least lighten this spot on my nose! Which of course was bought on by hyperpigmentation from the pimple I had 5 months ago, yes 5 months ago!!

The product was around USD$70 (I live and work in Hong Kong), so costed here HKD$520.

That night, I cleansed, used the Benzyl treatment then started with this "cream". Its more like a serum, and instead of just treating the spot, I spread it over my face. It was really light, not greasy one bit, and absorbed. Strangely enough, within 5 mins that spot got even redder, and a little itchy for about 10 mins. I went to bed, all angry and wondering how this will ever go away, I mean it was about half a finger nail in size!! Wait for this - next morning I woke up, and I saw it had already faded.. Like not gone completely, but more like a dull kind of colour.. So the following day, I did the same routine (twice a day) with cleansing, Benzyl and the Clinique product..

Its now been my 5th day and that spot has literally disappeared.. I cannot believe it, and never in my life have I heard or seen anything this amazing!! I kept thinking to myself today that I should have used / found this product earlier instead of avoiding all these social gatherings and locking myself in my house all these months! Guys, I know its steep in price, but never have I witnessed anything so spectacular. Like you can see and feel it work straight away!! Apart from the "spot", I smeared it all over my face, and already my skin has this "glow" about it.. What sucks now is that I like this product so much is that I am thinking of using it long term, but just so expensive to stay on it.

If you have hyper pigmentation from past acne spots, YOU MUST give this a try. However from what I have read, you must have your acne under control first or you'll break-out. Do what I did, by cleansing, benzyl, then apply the Clinique serum..

Guys seriously.. 5 days and that thing I had on my nose for 5 months was gone by day 3!!

I wanted to share this with you all cos I know how stressful it is, and I myself were reading all these solutions to treat this damn spot on my nose. Now that I have accidentally found this product I needed to tell you all, as it was this site that helped me control my acne in the first place 6 months ago. Like I said.. You MUST try this serum..

I use a combo of aquaphor (or neosporin), zinc oxide (diaper rash cream) and manuka honey on red marks. I just mix them together and put it on the spot, then one of those small bandaids overnight.

i used ACV on it for the first few weeks when i first got it back in november, but stopped after it didn't reallly have any results. should i start using it again? it might work now because it's a lot lighter now than it was back then.

Two pictures I took today:

:( Anyone have any idea how much longer I have to wait? Bio-Oil seems to be working a LITTLE. It had really dramatic results the first week, and now it seems to have halted.

on a side note, the rest of my face (my skin tone) is really starting to look really good. Except for this nose thing.

the products i highly recommend are:

- Yes! To Carrots nourishing exfoliating scrub

- Lemon & Sugar mixed, placed on a cotton round

- Epiduo to clear up small pimples

I'm happy to say that i have stopped picking completely. I had a pretty bad (relatively) breakout on the right side of my face, but I forced myself not to touch it. I just put Epiduo on the three zits that formed, and 4 days later, they're almost completely gone, with no hideous purple/brown/black/red scars!

and also, i've been wearing sun screen every day, so that seems to be a good preventative measure.

Looks like you're suffering fro PIH. With darker skin it takes awhile for it to go away. Retinoids help turn over and get rid of them faster as well as microdermabrasion. You might want to go for a spa treatment or try a home microderm set like Dermanew. It will go eventually. I have dark skin and I easily get PIH. Also try using a zinc oxide sunscreen and/or mineral make up. Sun exposure will keep it darker longer. ;)

Do you know if the Neutrogena Microdermabrasion set is any good? I'm thinking about buying it, since it's only $20.

nope, it hasn't broke me out at all. but i think it's just because i only put it on my nose, not anywhere else on my face.

Your skin looks fantastic! I wouldn't put bio-oil on your face though because it will probably make you break out. The marks will fade in time, but there are some fantastic dark mark correctors from Clinique, so you should check those out.

Oh, and if you're thinking of doing microdermabrasion I would get it done professionally because its way more effective than the home kits. I never really got results from the home kits. Good luck!

I think the bio oil has been helping! It hasn't broke me out, but only because i dab a little bit on my nose. I found that if I massage the bio oil in really deeply, it makes the spot appear darker/irritated for a while. But if i just lightly rub over it, it's more effective. I've been reading a LOT of reviews about bio oil and most of them say that it takes 3 months for it to work. Some people said their scars/stretch marks are totally invisible after 3 months. The only negative reviews I've read about bio oil say that they broke out, and that hasn't happened for me. So i guess i'll just have to be patient. The spot isn't even THAT noticeable in real life, just in photographs. So hopefully i'll get rid of this by May which so happens to be my birthday month/deadline goal for clear skin.

i would get ipl on it but check to make sure they can do it on your skin type before you try it. spot treatments where i go are $120 but that usually includes 10-15 spots for me. since you only have one maybe they will give you a better deal. 3 passes of the ipl though should take care of that. i had a bad spot above my lip and its about gone now.

Thanks! I just looked into it, and I'm not sure if it's going to be worth the risks, since I have dark skin. And plus my parents would never agree to it, haha. But thank you!

Here's what it looks like now; http://i51.tinypic.com/14uc5lk.jpg

it's faded for the most part in real life, but it's impossible to ignore in photographs... I'm gonna be patient with the bio oil though.

yeah you would have to ask if they could do it on your skin type but the good thing is if you ever did want to do it, its totally non-invasive and its not a laser or anything so its not dangerous. you would just have them do a spot test first. it does look better though in the last pic wink.png

added week 4 of bio oil on to the collage:

http://i40.tinypic.com/wi3ez5.png

definitely getting better, but today, someone took a picture of me with flash, and i was mortified by the obviousness of the spot. in the picture it showed up as a huge maroon blotch on my nose.

but i think it'll be gone completely in a couple of more weeks:)

uh oh... Yesterday, I applied apple cider vinegar diluted with water on it, and i guess it was too much for it to handle, because there are bleeding pores :( However, I noticed the dark brown pigment is pretty much gone after one application of apple cider vinegar! Will these bleeding pores turn into scabs and just kind of flake off within the next few days?? What should I do?
