Some Opinions On This List Of Ingredients?

2 posts in this topic

Hey, friends!

I have a list of ingredients I'd like some input on. I want to know people's experiences with the following ingredients.

It's the powder I've been using -- and was raving about previously. Now I worry it may have actually had something in it that irritated my skin and contributed to breakouts. As such, I'm tapping into the knowledge of this forum in addition to doing some research!

Here it is:

Lauroyl Lysine

Zinc Stearate

Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride

Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891)

Zinc Oxide (CI 77947)

Boron Nitride

Ascorbyl Palmitate (Vitamin C)

Hydrolyzed Mango Juice Extract

Hydrolyzed Garcinia Mangostana (Mangosteen) Fruit Extract

Camellia Sinensis (White Tea) Leaf Extract

Alaria Esculenta (Sea Kelp) Extract

Aspalathus Linearis (Rooibus Red Tea) Leaf Extract

Glycrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract

Punica Granatum (Pomegranate) Seed Extract

Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Extract

Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract

Tocopherol Acetate (Vitamin E)

Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A)

Sambucus Nigra Fruit (Elderberry)

MAY CONTAIN (+/-): Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499).

I'm confused, as all of these seem fairly okay, and I've even had positive experiences with a few of them (like sea kelp and aloe vera).

Perhaps it's the brush I'm using? Though -- the brush is mega soft and friendly!

-shakes head- Hoping I can figure this out. I'm considering purchasing a different powder just to make sure. And for now, I'm going (mostly) makeupless for a few days.

The main offender is the Lauroyl Lysine. Looks like it has a lot of good stuff in it though.

My daughter had purchased Everyday Minerals base and started breaking out. I asked my esthetician about the ingredients and she pointed out the Lauroyl Lysine. Coincidentally, Everyday Minerals came out with a new line not a few weeks later that is their "IT" base and contains no Lauroyl Lysine. I found a mineral makeup line called Jenulence that has good ingredients.
