Solodyn & Ziana
Posted 27 December 2011 - 02:51 PM
I went 10 days ago and my dermatologist gave me Ziana and put me on 80 mg of Solodyn. My basic routine has been to take the pill in the morning and put the Ziana on my face at night before I go to bed. I wash my face twice a day with Cetaphil (in the morning and evening) and use a moisturizer after washing my face in the morning because the Ziana does dry my face out a little.
It hasn't been very long but I'm starting to see some subtle results. Some of the problem areas are starting to diminish, and the bumps are beginning to become flat. I have had a couple new pimples arise, but the Ziana seems to be taking care of them and helping them to dry out fast. I have to go back for a 6 week follow-up appointment, so I'm hoping that by that time I will see much more drastic results. I'll keep everyone posted about the progress!

BTW, are you planning on taking pictures? I have been tracking my progress with weekly pictures (posted in the Gallery section) and it helps me to guage if things are getting better or worse.

Anyways it will be 2 weeks tomorrow that I've been on the Solodyn & Ziana and I have to say I am starting to see improvements in my skin. The areas on my cheeks are really starting to go away, instead of being red noticeable bumps they are becoming flat and looking less noticeable. The moisturizer I'm using helps my skin from getting too dry and keeps it a good balance between dry and oily. It seems like things are slowly starting to improve, I hope it keeps up!

Glad to hear your skin is clearing up. My derm suugested solodyn and I am thinking about...I read the reviews and they actually scared me lol. Keep us posted on your progress and good luck.
I definitely recommend Solodyn! I had no side effects whatsoever. i was on it for about 3 months, my prescription just ran out a few weeks ago and my dermatologist is keeping me off of it because he doesn't want me to be on it forever haha! he said if I experience a really bad breakout he can put me back on it, but it's been a few weeks and nothing has happened. I would try it!
