Moisturizer For Men

4 posts in this topic

Hey guys, this is my first post on the forums, so nice to meet you all smile.png

I have a quick question about a moisturizer I recently purchased and some products in general.

The moisturizer is: http://www.desertess...-control-lotion

And the ingredients are: Water (Aqua), Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Leaf Extract*, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract*, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract*, Fucus Vesiculosus Extract (Bladderwrack)*, Hydrastis Canadensis (Goldenseal) Extract*, Hedychium Coronarium Root Extract (Hawaiian White Ginger)*, Caprylic Capric Triglyceride (Coconut Derived), Glycerin, (Plant Derived), Glyceryl Stearate SE (Plant Derived), Stearic Acid (Vegetable Derived), Propanediol (Corn Derived), Kaolin, Tapioca Starch, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate (Mineral), Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil*, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil*, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil*, Cymbopogon Martini Oil (Palmarosa), Citrus Reticulata (Tangerine) Leaf Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil*, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil*, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter*, Benzyl Alcohol (Plant Derived), Alcohol (Grain Derived), Dehydroacetic Acid *Certified Organic

Is this a good moisturizer to use if I am concerned about acne or irritating my skin?

Also, has anyone used any products from this site?: http://www.organicregimens.com/

I was thinking about giving their products a try but I'm not sure if they are acne safe. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks! smile.png

Lavender and Peppermint can cause some concern....but so can anything in general. As crazy as this may sound I stay away- far away from natural, essential oils, etc. Just because it's natural doesn't mean it can't cause irritation. It's obvious to think the more natural the less likely...However, it truly depends on "your" skin structure. Fragrance seems to be my irritation. As well as some oils. I try and look for as basic as possible with the insurance it will do what it is needed to do: moisturize. I have found my moisturizer after years and years of trial and error. I use La Roche Posay Toleriane Ultra. It's perfect for me and does what it should. Moisturize without irritation and breakouts. The LRP Toleriane line is a great starting point for rebuilding skin structure. That being said if it is compromised. Even so, it is a great line for skin needing some TLC or a break from added chemicals, fragrances, dyes, treatments, etc.

I laugh a lot. It's a requirement in my world. You're welcome anytime....'Ello loves!

Personally i think every oil-control/matte/shine reducer etc is full of bull. All the ones I tried don't work, what's worse, is they all left a film on my face. I don't mind the feeling, but that film looks noticeable in bright light (fluorescent/sunlight) and you'll look like you're wearing makeup.

I don't like these two Benzyl Alcohol, Alcohol. they both cause cancer and alcohol is a skin irritant. you should also avoid moisturisers with oils in them if you suffer acne. If your looking for a natural product i use this

its the best one I've found so far and has good simple ingredients

actually they don't look simple lol but still good for your skin
