I had severe red marks at the start of this year, all over my cheeks... they were very dark and I had to wear a ton of make up to cover it all up. 6-7 months later they were virtually gone, mostly down to time but I think weekly Glycolic acid treatments helped a great deal (I did 6 weeks of treatments at home with a 30% glycolic)
I was still getting the odd breakout and I had some rolling scars, I decided to use a topical retinoid, Retin A... first 2 weeks my scars and red marks looked even better! Then I got a HUGE breakout from the IB of Retin A.... Its lasted weeeeks. Im now getting over that, but the red marks are 10X worse than they were 9 months ago. The only thing I keep reminding myself is that my skin healed last time.... and it will do it again!

Please just give your skin TIME, moisturize, and maybe use some glycolic acid.... but the rest of all this rubbish wont work, trust me I tried it!
Regime...

Morning
Splash face with cold water
Moisturise w/ Kimberly Sayer ultra light day cream SPF 25

Evening
Remove eye make up
wash face with water
Apply Epiduo

I use saw palmetto to help with my hormonal acne... It has nothing to do with red marks.

Red marks drive me crazy! My left cheek is finally clear, but the red marks there are taking forever to go away. I actually started washing my face with honey this week, toning with lavender chamomile tea, and my this has cut my red marks down a lot in just a few days! Maybe once I'm clear I'll try the glycolic acid, but I don't want to use any scar treatments until my active acne goes away.
my regimen:

am
wash face+chest+back with UMF 16+ manuka honey
tone with chamomile lavender tea

pm
home made grey kaolin clay, manuka honey & tea tree oil mask for 30+ minutes
spot treat with 50/50 jojoba and tea tree oil

avoiding dairy, soy, high sodium, refined sugars, processed foods since September 2011. more recently peanuts, gluten and citrus as well.

I am 90-95% clear, and still improving.

N. Clare, how's it going washing your face with just water? I tried that a few years back and it made me feel really dirty. Good luck.

Oxy Maximum Face Wash

Dickinson's Witch Hazel

Neutrogena Healthy Skin Face Lotion SPF15

I read the first part of the title "I had got rid of all my marks" and I was just about to congratulate you... but then I read the rest :/ I know it sucks, I've been there. Actually, I am there. My marks got reeeeeeally better over the last few months and just a few days ago I got this awful breakout :/ The results: more red marks. They've turned into scabs though, so I really hope they go away...

I'll try peelings in a couple months. I've read some of your threads before and it seems like lactic/glycolic worked for you! Thank you for sharing your experience :)

Good luck with retin A!!

I'm using epiduo at night and watered down cream cleanser to remove makeup, otherwise I don't touch it or I wash with water. If I feel really clogged then I use a glyolic wash (no more than once a week) my skin seems to be much happier!
