No. Zinc, as well as several other vitamins (calcium as well), interferes with the antibiotic absorption. Take them a few hours apart.

I'm taking Doxy at the moment and the leaflet states not to take Zinc or Iron supplements at the same time of day, so I guess it's fine as long as they're apart. I take Zinc in the morning and my Doxy in the evening.

I think 2 hours minimum is the common recommendation.

"

Do not take iron supplements, multivitamins, calcium supplements, antacids, or laxatives within 2 hours before or after taking doxycycline.

"

--from drugs.com, a reliable source when it comes to your pill info.

If I were you, I would take my antibiotic first thing in the morning, then take zinc at lunch and/or dinner, then take your antibiotic before bed, if you can handle it on an empty stomach.

Good luck, peace out B)

i would say no in general, not just waiting x amount of hours. zinc decreases the effectiveness of antibiotics and its not like you can tell your body to just stop and start which mineral/pill or whatever to use first.
