Masturbation; Care To Join Me?

This is definitely a hard one...

I had not masturbated until I was 20 - as I never was able to get off on it, though I still suffered from acne prior to the experience. I believe it was due to harsh cleansers and the likes, but I have stopped that. I now wash with absolutely nothing, and it's been three months (I plan to go at least a year).

I would like to stop masturbation for a while, and see how it plays out - though I have tried to go about it every week for the past three months, while always finding an excuse to pull it "just once more". Even writing this is turning me on biggrin.png

I'm not sure if it'd even be worth it, to give up this activity, however it's a little lame that I'm unable to control the urge for but a mere month just to see what I'm capable of.

The longest I've gone would be a week (after my 20 year abstinence prior to this year).

If no positive results are seen in weeks, I doubt it'd be worth it to keep up. All occurrences are eventually blamed on wanking off. Though it arguably puts quite a stress on your adrenal glands, and energy over all.

On the other hand, I feel absolutely disgusted with myself immediately after the act (even though, yes, I understand it's a completely natural function) - covered in my own slime, my hand lubed up in oil, I've accomplished absolutely nothing.

This platypus will be pounded no longer, unless by the hands of another being.

I'm down for day one; you're welcome to join me.

I will join you as well, Day 13 for me. It is way easy if you never watch porn, and your libido goes way down after a while. good luck, no masturbation has been one of my huge factors to clear skin, it works for me and I am 100% clear, just know that it may not work for everyone.

I find that not only is the sight of a naked body a turn on, after a few days the mere thought of anything sexual causes me to stray my path.

I made it once about several days, and found I no longer desired a hand down my pants at that point, however I decided to reward myself and here I am a month later struggling yet again.

I have an addictive personality, and this reminds me of my many attempts at quitting pot; was eventually able to cut it out altogether. Though to make it but a single month will be a test, to see how I feel, and will be worth it whether it affects my skin or not.

day 9 im holdin on strong! i was thinking of a new face regimen any one used the african black soap?

Day 2

It appears many eventually turn to African Soap, especially when venturing into holistic cleansers.

I found it to be over drying, though I currently am experiencing dehydrated skin, along with a thick layer of oil on top (my forehead feels uncomfortable to move up and down). I'm currently using nothing at all, not even water, and expect it to make a difference within a year.

If you find your skin feels comfortable, and aren't suffering from a layer of unwanted oil, black soap should be worth a try.

I'd vote for everyone to not use any wash at all, and give it a good length of time (around several months to a year, some in as little as three months depending on skin condition) to show desired results. I recommend you look into it, it feels great not having a facial routine.

you are on the right path, it shouldn't take a year though. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. you need to use cold water to rinse your face. doing nothing to it only hurts it and allows build up, you need to rinse it twice a day, morning and night with the coldest water from your tap. Just splash your face with your hands (do not touch your face), and let it air dry (again do not touch your skin with your hands or a towel). doing nothing with your skin is not good and will only result in oil and dead skin buildup, take it from someone thats been there and done that.

I want to share my success story on how i first realized my problems were soaps and masturbation. i went on a one month camping trip (no showers). i was expecting to break out really really badly, and just the opposite occurred. i did bath in a lake like 4 times, using no soap or scrubbing of any kind, just the water surrounding me while i swam around a bit. also in the one month time i did not masturbate or orgasm once, i might of had a wet dream though, cant remember. i ate sloppy as well, junk food and beer every night. i was so clear i couldnt believe it. that is how i first realized that my issues were masturbation and soaps. i am 100% clear now and rest is history.

Is your face dry underneath this oil? Despite what user's like Bryan claim, the usual cause of an oil over load is the use of harsh cleansers, and dehydration of skin. The oil your skin produces isn't actually meant to hydrate our skin (which Bryan attempts to disprove, and he's right about the oil itself not actually hydrating the skin), but rather it is meant to trap moisture inside allowing the skin to heal; that's all oil is capable of doing, and it's a reaction from your body much like when many people suffer various skin disorders on their face or scalp (involving the over drying of skin, such as Seborrhea, or Rosacea), the skin tends to react with oil as the skin underneath is in desperate need of moisture. Bryan goes on to cite sources with a hand full of people selected for studies in attempts to disprove this, but all a study is is simply a collection of people payed over the course of a small period to demonstrate the results desired by the company whom hired these people. You'll look in earlier threads on this website, and across the internet demonstrating that they've witnessed their skin get oilier over time, and therefor more acne prone, so they decide to stop their daily routines (be it facial care, or hair care), and have never seen their skin or scalp in better condition in their lives. I have not seen a single user who hasn't solved their acne and oil issues by simply not washing at all, or merely washing with water - those who claim it hasn't worked for them have likely only given it 3 months or so, but like I said, it might take several or even a year to show desired results for some, depending on the state of your skin, while others might only have to wait it out a few months. Yes there will be initial breakouts, and possibly many more during the course of this healing period, but otherwise it's well worth it in the end. The money you'll save, and the worries you'll be able to drop. You'll eventually be able to roll around in dirt, or rub your face of sweat after a shitty day and not worry about whether or not a pimple might pop up in a few days.

As for the black soap, I think in your condition, it'd be a bit rough.

Did you find your skin extremely dry underneath though, with a thick layer of oil developing on top (along with clogged pores, and acne) before you had started the water only routine? From reading other posts, and a few other forums online, it seems like the best route to go for someone with extremely oily skin, and dry clogged skin underneath, would be to simply not wash at all, at least until the oil subsides, and the skin underneath recovers. Tap water seems to be rather harsh also, and I doubt it would hydrate your skin even in the slightest (especially since it'd be unable to penetrate the layer of oil on top). As for the dead skin, I'm not sure if maybe that needs to be there to help the skin heal (kind of like you should leave a scab on a wound rather than pick it off). And how often do you wash?

Did you dab the oil off you face as well? Or do you sleep on your sides at night, where the oil likely rubs off? I'm wondering if I should sleep on my back so that the oil stays on top to keep the moisture locked in, or if it even matters.

I have a humidifier in my room, so hopefully that helps a little.

Also, do you take any pills? (and how much of each)

Thanks : )

I'm ashamed to admit this, but I'm addicted to masturbation. I've tried to quit before, but nothing has worked. However, this time I plan on making it work!

I take no pills, I do not diet, I always sleep on my back on a tempurpedic (chiro recommended!). I never touch my face with my hands or a towel, only napkins if i get food on it. I have had my endodermis (the under lying skin) very dry and damaged before, but probably not as bad as you. I would still recommend the cold water rinses, and yes a humidifier will help as well.

As far as the dead skin, yes leave it on, however it needs to naturally shed itself from your skin, do not peel or touch it let it shed naturally. however, if you do notice your face becoming much much more oily and it does not subside then the dead skin will only grow on top of itself without shedding naturally, thus it is good to have a rinse that helps in that process, and just helps with oil or dirt.

I will tell this story one more time. I went on a month long camping trip no showers. Before I went on the trip I used face soaps and jerked off like once every 2 days, I had moderate acne. On the camping trip we took no showers, only swims in the lake, and I also ate junk food and had beer every night, and I did not jerk off the whole 30 days. At then end of those 30 days I was crystal clear, I had no acne, no signs of ever having acne, I literally looked like I had the same skin as I did when I was 10 years old. Ever since I got back from that trip I changed everything. No more soaps, just shampoo, short cold showers, and just rinse my face morning and night with cold water from the tap and let it air dry. And I also stopped masturbation practices and sex. My orgasm frequency usually is something like once a month or so, or even longer. I have been crystal clear ever since that camping trip (2 years), no break outs no acne, just clear.

my moderate acne, and acne hyperpigmentation did not get worse, but I do remember that all those red marks did come out as white heads and popped, literally all in the first week, and after that they all healed over in the last 3 weeks. my skin is acne prone, hence why i got acne in the first place. my mother use to have minor minor acne, like one maybe once a month and never anything crazy, it was always in one area, never a breakout, i had acne by far worse, i wouldnt even say hers was ance, just a pimple.

Day 4

I might stick out not washing at all for another 3 months or so, and see what happens... if no progress is made by then I suppose I'll try introducing water again.

My major issue is with the oil, it's too much. My face feels dry underneath as well.

I'll also attempt to sleep on my back as well each night, so my face doesn't rub on the pillows and possibly become irritated during this healing process.
