I had controlled myself for a couple weeks then fucked up.

I'm starting a thread here for a few reasons. First, as support for anyone else attempting to abstain from it. Second, as a log in case it works. Third, as further encouragement not to do it.

So... Day 0.

The key to being successful is to not get aroused, so pretty much don't watch porn.

Yeah, I've found that to be quite true.

I'm on day 4 by the way.

As someone who has cleared my acne from not masturbating, everyday you do without is a good day, and two weeks is great, keep up the good work. Masturbation believe it or not was my problem and did create my acne, I am not sure what the medical science was behind it, maybe me losing minerals and the chemical stresses that go with it, IDK. Once you get into a no arousal state your mind doesn't even think about that sort of thing anymore, it becomes easier and easier to go on without it. At first though it is tough, its like a smoker tyring to quit cold turkey, they get cranky. Also to note, my attitude and general outlook on life was much more positive, I became more friendly and was never negative. When I did masturbate I was also in different moods, but now it seems like my mood, stress levels (pretty much none) are all stable. I had also changed from washing my face with soaps to not using them, my two main problems were masturbation/orgasm/larousal, and topical soaps and creams, once I stopped both I was clear in no time (and that was coming from severe acne). It may or may not be your answer, but you should gain more out of it if your skin doesn't. Good luck, I usually go 2 weeks between orgasms or sometimes even 1 month. My longest was around 3 months believe it or not, and even without wet dreams, as I say once you stop looking at porn you just dont get the mind urges anymore.

Thanks for the support. Definitely going to try to keep this going as long as possible.

Day 9: Acne is still there, but I never expected it to heal so quickly anyway. Haven't had a breakout since day 3, which was a real bummer, having acne and not masturbating. Somehow managed to hold it together. Hope anyone reading this can do the same.

It's incredulous that you are spreading rubbish like this and even more so that you believe it yourself!, masturbation is perfectly healthy and is actually recommended to help prevent cancer of the prostate, the more often that people have sex/masturbate the lower incidence of prostate cancer. It's healthy, instinctive, and why we are all here, don't be so silly.

Acne is such a multifaceted problem that has many difference reasons for why it occurs, I severely doubt you cleared your acne up by becoming celibate, though I would be interested to read your hypothesis on why you think celibacy "cures acne".

Right....you can keep on masturbating if you want, no one is stopping you, and you can continue to break out, no one is stopping that.

Cancer and masturbation studies are a fallacy, you can find abstracts that say out of the 200 or so males we tested, 55% masturbated and 40% didn't have prostate cancer, it is a ridiculous claim, saying that masturbation prevents cancer when no one really knows how cancer even forms. There are countless studies that show that prostate cancer and masturbation have nothing in common.

Sorry, I'll rephrase that for you kind Sir, though not 100% conclusive there is evidence to suggest that masturbation and sex reduces the risk of cancer by "flushing out" the prostate (research is still in early stages due to the link only being found fairly recently). It does actually make a little bit of sense when you think about it, in fact, it makes more sense than becoming celibate to "cure acne", which is not very logical at all when you think about it!

Anyway, this has little to do with my original question, so I would like to ask you, do you have any conclusive evidence that celibacy reduces incidence of acne in individuals? or do you have any credible sources of which you received this information? or do you have your own hypothesis which you would care to offer up to this curious self.

no evidence, i dont need any i am walking proof, not only me others on here as well. all i know is that it not only reduces acne, it stopped it altogether, pretty much a cure for me anyways. i dont really care if you come on here and try to disprove us, that is fine, it will not change anything i do in my life, which is not masturbate, watch porn, or what have you. the body flushes itself out anyways, do you think back in the day a lot of males died of prostate cancer? I am sure that back in the day in some cultures, they did not masturbate. this cant be said for europeans, because well all know...they were sick deranged individuals (hence my lack of european ethnic background).
