I've had 5 of these big, raised red scars on my back and 1 on the side of my face on my jawline (which bothers me the most) for about 4-5 years.

I finally went to the dermatologist last year and got treated 2 times with the steroid injections. Only one of them ended up flattening and the color dissipated as well (most of it).

I'm 26 and still have acne, but luckily haven't had any scars like this in 4-5 years.

I've been traveling a lot (and now without health insurance, but living in South America where it's not needed) and was wondering if I should try the steroid injections again (3 sessions at least)?

Any other treatments someone can recommend based on what you see in the pictures below?

I have some scarring on my lower back as well =( though not as raised or red as yours.

It's about an inch and a half away from my earlobe.

Did you find any decent treatment for the smaller hypertrophic scars?

kenalog shots work miracles. I had a really bad one, its now virtually imperceptible. I had three shots.

My insurance covered it.

that is keloids not hyperthophic scars.
