2-3 weeks later and Im still not really noticing any improvement. Made almost all the alterations that Moonbase Suggests, starting to loose a little bit of faith here.
This certainly does not work for everyone, and by the way most people talk that say diet cleared them up, it usually takes months, we are talking average 9 months to see a difference. Perhaps food isn't your problem.

9 months? I'd say 9 months to be 100% clear
with the right diet it takes 2-6 months to get clear, improvements are seen withn the second month in most cases

I've read enough to tell this man, most holistic succes stories see improvements after the first month, sometimes even weeks

I eat a lot of red meat since that's all my mom usually makes but I love vegetables and fruits. However I don't like sea food so I take fish oil pills. So, my question is what foods should I absolutely avoid?? I'm about 80% percent clear but do have a lot of acne scars. However, I still do breakout on my jaw every now and then. Any examples of foods I should eat for a week at least to test the difference in my skin?

This. Is all very good information but a bit confused from all the posts.

Avoid starchy vegetables, grains, wheat, processed food, and dairy are the big things to avoid besides the obvious: sugar, junk food etc.

Okay thankyou so much "livelaughfart" starting Monday (due to the holidays I will eat nothing but fruits n mostly vegetables plus ill cut out soda and drink pure water. I think ill stay take my fish pills since they're not having a bad affect on me so far
Imo fish oil pills are not healthy, at all. Do a little research on here, they aren't really the "health boosters" they seem to be.
And make sure you eat a lot of meat (preferably organic), and try to avoid eating too much fruit it should be eaten very minimally.

I don't know about that. Moonbase is the only person I've encountered who goes on and on about oxidation rates of oily supplements and sure, he's totally right about that. But seafood, even farm-raised grain-fed bullshit seafood, is expensive. And people need all the omega 3's they can get, which are only really abundant in eggs from happy chickens and flax. Stick with quality fish oil, I say, for those who can't afford to buy seafood every day (try to at least once a week though).

It's the other chemicals that they add to the fish oil, and you never know what part of the fish they take the oil from. I was very surprised after reading the ingredients list of my mom's fish oil supplements.
I personally would think flax seeds are much safer.

Flax seeds? What with all the problematic digestive issues this forum also associates with seeds? Or their slightly estrogenic properties? And some people say flax breaks them out ooooh better be afraid. C'mon. If you want to take any food you can nitpick it all you want. This forum is awesome for informing people about methods of "healthy" they're not used to (and usually disagree with at first) but as a result it's also full of people who are terrified to eat anything.
Quality fish oil. Cod liver oil, whatever. Just know what you're looking for.

Omega 3 from plants is only ALA anyway... so it must then be converted to EPA and DHA. Fish oil is the only source because they eat the marine algae that produce it.

I just wanted to give a quick update. I followed this diet for a month or two before adding in some more variety. My skin seems pretty healthy now, so here's a breakdown of the things I eat:
I eat these on a daily basis
-Lots of fruit (apples, oranges, bananas)
-Lots of Veggies (broccoli, carrots, zucchini, mushrooms, a variety of lettuce, onions, spinach)
-Lots of Chicken
-About one serving of oatmeal
I eat these maybe a couple times a week (or less)
-Sourdough bread
-Some butter
-A little bacon (a couple times a month)
-Sweet potatoes
-Eggs
-Milk (about one pint/ month)
-Beef
Thanks again to moonbase for putting up this diet. It provided a great framework for me to follow, and then modify to fit my specific bodily needs.

It does a number on confidence, on social life, on dating, and my self concept which I constantly try to take in healthy positive refreshing thoughts. Some days are harder then others. While much of what ts had said in the op, I am not sure it all coincides with other health professionals yet, the biggest and most frustrating things about health or fitness is the contradictions and paradox of it all. What is considered good and healthy from a health professional or doctors is contradicted by the next guy. You can find refrenced sources, and still, a lot of things are contradicted by it.
I would give up a testicle to clear myself of this bullshit. Even than, I do not think my hormones would regulate properly. Something that caught my attention was that, moonbase mentioned stomach problems or gut problems. I think he is onto something since, I had issues as a child with ulcers, with acid reflux, and several other issues with my stomach. Some of the stuff I was give medication for and several tests like a upper GIC or endioscope, and others in my teens. Finally, I stopped partying, I stopped drinking or smoking weed, dedicated my life to a healthy lifestyle, fitness, and working out regularly. My dad always said that, if I didn't, maybe I would be even worse. I don't want to find out. I want to thank you for the post. I am going to see if I make changes and hope for the best. I am currently seeing a dermatologist, hoping for a cancelation to move in sooner, and really hoping to go on accutane as gels and topical creams do not work for me. Worse, it takes the lession weeks sometimes a month to go away and scars can happen. I do not know of anything more destructive to a person's self confidence then this shit.

I found his idea of binging on fruits to increase insulin sensitivity interesting. I tried it after accidentally doing a low carb diet for so long. Started eating a crap ton of fruits. At first I was breaking out, probably due to the sudden flood of sugar/insulin/whatever in my system. They were just red marks though, nothing too bad. Within a day or two, I could handle large amounts of fruit fine, which was a first since I started changing the way I ate. So now, I don't really worry about stuffing myself, or getting too high on the GI index, or whatever. I can even handle some processed sugary foods without breaking out now (though these foods start tasting horrible very quickly).
I'm waiting till summer to really bring a diet like this into full force. I realize now that I need to consume WAAAY more calories on a daily basis, as well as a larger variety of foods. More fruits will be in season by then too, so it'll be much easier to do the above over summer. Hopefully this summer I can put an end to the major causes of my acne (though I am 90% clear right now).

Huh, nice to see this thread back up again. I wonder where Moonbase went though. He made this thread, caused a ruckus in the forum, was gonna update it, then disappeared.
Am very curious. "Are you there Moonbase? It's me, onefatalgoose."

Most people disappear from here immediately after they get any sort of success. I am in the process of having to realize I got fucked with for the past two years. I just realized more recently that all the topical gels are branded under different name but are virtually the samething. Differin or Retina A. Then clindets, clindoxyl gel, stevemycin, etc are all virtually the samething maybe slightly different percentages. I understand there is a problem with the accutane situation in the states and that, they are screening harder to prescribe it but, while they playing the waiting game, cystic and nodular cause crater or shallow scars. Its a viscious cycle and it sucks to be apart of it despite everything I do and a lot of you guys or girls try to do. Its very disappointing. I am booking another appointment with my dermatologist. I am trying to get on accutane this time or I am purchasing it online. I have seen so many doctors, none of whom are being helpful outside my dermatologist. Still, I am just another person, another case study, and its my face. Its a shitty way to spend my life.
^ive noticed whey protein causes serious acne problems in my skin

Bacon, eggs, milk, beef, etc are all things I highly recommend avoiding. If we battle acne, we have high anti inflammatory triggers like Moonbase said. Still, your body reacts differently to the next persons but, I wouldn't suggest taking that stuff. Minimize it man.

In regards to cystic acne, no matter what my diet was like, I would get cysts on my neck, shoulders and back.
It wasn't until I started taking Optizinc 30mg caps twice a day that the cysts virtually dissapeared (although not acne altogether). It made a difference practically overnight.
Then I introduced Maca into my daily routine...1/2 teaspoon in the morning upon waking and 1/2 teaspoon in the evening. It has seemed to help regulate my hormones somewhat. I still get acne on these problem areas but it is significantly less and heals quicker. I use the NOW brand of Maca powder. I stumbled upon its acne-benefits on accident cause I started taking it to improve my muscle-building workouts.
I should also add that at around the same time of the Maca, I stopped using soap on my problem areas when showering and only use water (soap for all the rest of my body). Also, I started concentrating on not drinking significant amounts of water/beverage when eating. I usually will wait a minimum of 20-30 minutes after drinking to eat (for the liquid to exit the stomach). After eating, I wait a minimum of an hour to have anything to drink again. I had heard this has helped some people, but I am unsure exactly if it helps me or if its the Zinc and Maca.
I'm also looking forward to Moon's updated post!
