Not all doctors are useless, but most of them have no clue in how to deal with the real causes of acne, especially dermatologists. Endocrinologists don't even know how to address all the complexities of hormonal acne. Even many naturopaths are not specifically trained in dealing with skin issues.

I have been to so many doctors, I know what they'll say before the appointment. Standardized treatments don't work for everyone because our bodies are not all the same. You just have to do your research and find a doctor who will put you over making $$$. Good luck finding that. Unfortunately, if doctors don't prescribe things, the pharmaceutical companies will go broke. It's the most unethical aspect of the medical field and it truly disgusts me. Sometimes patients need to take drugs to counter the side effects of other drugs. So ridiculous.

And btw, I have a PhD and I know how to do responsible and comprehensive research. At this point, I know more than any doctor I have seen about acne. Too bad my PhD is not in the medical field, otherwise I would have been able to do something truly productive for people suffering with acne. But anyway, I can give advice for free to whoever needs it.

Any advice you take - whether it's online or from a so-called specialist - needs to be taken with a grain of salt. Don't blindly trust doctors, do your own research.
