While being well hydrated is no cure for acne, it does help out.

i would think drinking lots of water would help keep the toxins moving out of our bodies, an of course toxins attribute to acne.

water certainly helps w/ acne. Dont let anyone tell u differently. First off, water helps with the effectiveness of ur immune system..allowing ur white b. cells to react faster, and better to acne bacteria.

Second Why do u think doctors tell u to drink 8 glasses of water daily? It helps to keep ur body healthy..if ur not gonna do it for ur skin, do it to keep the colds away laugh.gif

Thirdly, like sadcaroline said, it flushes the toxins out of ur body. Its a complicated system, how acne forms, i cant really put it in words as if only read other posts regarding acne/toxins.

maybe someone can shed some light on this topic clearly? smile.gif

While water isnt nearly enough to 'cure' acne, it certainly helps..its the fine line between being 99% clear and 100%.

WATER HELPS EVERYTHING!!!!
some people see more change than others
The change you will see depends on what you used to drink.

I went from drinking a 6-pack of coke a day and no water
to
drinking 4 bottles of water a day and only 1 soda

I saw a BIG IMPROVEMENT!!!

of course, if you're already drinking lots of water, drinking twice that won't make much of a difference to you.

even if it doesnt help your face, its a healthy choice to make.

go from 2 cokes and 1 bottle's of water to 4 bottles of water and 1 coke.

This is ridiculous. What kind of "toxins" are you referring to and how do these "toxins" cause sebum excretion. Gimme a break.

QUOTE
Dr. Ruth Kava, Director of Nutrition at the American Council on Science and Health (ACSH), thinks that the origin of "eight cups a day" may be a misinterpretation of statements in physiology textbooks about total bodily fluid requirements being eight cups per day. This "fluid" however, can come from food, drink, and metabolism byproducts, not necessarily from drinking eight cups of water.

QUOTE
New research from Dr. H. Valtin of Dartmouth Medical School indicates there is little scientific evidence to support the theory that a human should consume at least eight cups of water a day under normal circumstances.

QUOTE
Drink too much and the benefits may be outweighed by the diluting of salts within your body. While drinking eight cups may not do any harm, it is unnecessary for most people and can put an increased strain on the kidneys if done too quickly.

There is mixed opinion about the eight glasses thing...so thought I would post the less common viewpoint.

I drink about half a gallon a day... as long as you don't drink an extremely large amount , only good could come from it.

I drink a lot of water, but my acne is independent of how much water I drink.

I personally think it helps a lot. If I don't get at least 2 L/day my skin tends to breakout more often. I also think regular exercise helps too =D

for me,
plenty of water + healthy diet + good mild cleanser and exfoliant = clear-ish skin.

I've been drinking tons of water with Lemon juice for about a month and I see no change whatsoever. I started using Sage 4% BHA and that's helping unclog my pores.
