exfoliating with clay mask

5 posts in this topic

i use a mask of Aztec Secret bentonite clay and apple cider vinegar about every other day... is this enough exfoliation?

i've tried salt scrubs and brushes before, but they seemed to irritate my skin more than anything. i'm sure they're beneficial, but they seem to aggravate active spots.

what do you guys like to use for exfoliation?

Icky. I would scrub with salt or sugar on my face. I don't even use apricot scrubs or walnut shell scrubs. For scrubs I only ever use microbeads or jojoba beads, as they're more perfectly round, so they will exfoliate without scratching your skin up (which irritates acne).

As for your question of if you're exfoliating enough--there's no simple answer to this. Some people's skin can't take much exfoliation at all (chemical or manual), while others need to exfoliate every day. Just listen to what your skin is telling you. Exfoliate as often as your skin allows without it getting irritated.

I like using peeling gels! Gently gets rid of any flaky skin and helps to keep my skin smooth. I don't like the abrasive scrubs and I never feel like the microbeads or whatever are actually doing anything.

Once in a while if I'm in a pinch I'll veeeeery gently use an Italy towel. (you're not supposed to though, it's supposedly too rough...but I keep an extremely light touch on it and it seems ok).

I personally use the aztec healing clay with cider vinegar and for me it does exfoliate mildly. It's up to your own unique skin to determine if that's the only method you need.

Supplements:

25mg zinc citrate,1g B5(two 500mg caps,one with breakfast and one with dinner),500mg curcumin with biperine,Carlson's fish oil

Day Routine:

Honey/Clay Cleanser (1Tablespoon raw honey,1 tablespoon dry clay,4 Tablespoons water)

ACV Toner (half ACV,half water or green tea)

MyChelle Fruit Enzyme Mist

Night Routine:

Aveeno Ultra Calming Foam cleanser

ACV toner

MyChelle Skin Clearing Serum

Trinessa BCP

80%-90% clearer than before, depending on the "monthly terror" and luck

I'm always looking for homemade skincare recipes! Please share yours with me!

Yeah. I'm a big exfoliation advocate, so I would say exfoliate as often as your skin can handle.

The reason I'm so big on exfoliation is that my skin looks sooo much better since I started exfoliating daily last year.

So that's my recommendation. As often as your skin can handle.
