How many vitamins should I take a day for my acne?

4 posts in this topic

After 3 years of bp, I am finally going to try vitamins to see if they help me with my acne.

I have:

Fish Oil 1200 mg

Chelated Zinc Gluconate 50mg

Niacin 500mg

Vitamin A 8000 IU

How many should I take a day for each one? Do I take them all at once, or at different time of the day?

I have mild acne, but extremely oily skin.. I don't know anybody's skin as oily as mine, I drink a sufficient amount of water and moisturize my skin but it just won't cut it.

Would zinc do the trick, or should I also bring in B5 (Pantothenic Acid)?

Thanks :)

I am curious as well - I am looking into vitamin and herbal therapy for my acne as well and am confused about what to take. I know the blend of vitamins and herbs are key. Please post what doses you find.

I'm taking 1 zinc tablet a day (15mg which is apparantly 150% RDA), 1 cod liver oil tablet a day and 1 omega 3 tablet a day.

What do the vitamin A and Niacin do?

I take:

Zinc Gluconate

Acidophilus

Milk Thistle

Flaxseed Oil

They work pretty well for me, I mean I have one or two breakouts now and again but not nearly as many as I do without these. Although I have been taking them for so long now I'm not sure If I'd be okay without them
