Sigh...well I am going to do a post.. Kinda weird, but seems like I'm not the only one on the journey to finding perfect skin.. So I have had acne since I was probably twelve.. never horrible, I would say mild. I went to the Dermatologist in october of 2009 I think.. Anyways my dermatologist put me on Epiduo and after I guess three months I was pretty happy with my skin, not perfectly of course, but better than I'd ever been. So around spring and summertime of last year my skin was just aggravating me more and more. I CONSTANTLY peel. I mean constantly. If I rub my finger down my chin area skin peels off, I have no idea why. I use tons of moisturizer (cetaphil) and my skin is oily, which is weird, but I still have this peeling problem. Anyways I wouldn't say my acne is horrible, definitely not, but I am not happy with my skin and haven't been in six years. It's something that I want so badly. I want to be able to look in the mirror without seeing acne spots or jscars. I'm hoping this treatment won't cause me to peel as strangely as I have been. I just started tonight and it burns quite a bit.. Anyways here is the beginning of the journey to hopefully perfect skin. That was an incredibly long post. Oh I also bought jojoba oil tonight so that's supposed to be coming in the mail soon.. I am praying it can stop my dryness and not cause me to break out. Anyone love it/hate it?

Well.. Tonight will be day three on the regimen.. No breakouts from it so far. Yesterday my makeup looked the best it has in awhile, I was starting to get happy..It wasn't peeling as much as it usually does.. Then last night after getting out of the shower I looked at my skin and it was majorly flaky! Idk if it was from the bp or what.. Anyways, put on moisturizer and most of that went away.. Woke up this morning and my face seems to be looking like its sunburnt :/ it stings a little and when i put the bp on it itches like crazy!... sigh.. hopefully my jojoba oil will be in monday, I am SO paranoid about using it though, I'm thinking about only using it on my chin area to test it out for a few days.. I used grapeseed oil once on my face and it just made me sooo much worse, so I'm really hoping this won't do the same since it's not even supposed to be an oil.. Sigh.. we shall see, we shall see!

Night five on the regimen.. I can feel two breakouts underneath my skin... hoping the don't ever show up cause I'll be really sad :/ I don't know if it's from the treatment or from all the chocolate and sweets I've ate in the last few weeks.. I can not handle sugar and I rarely ever eat it, although I'd loveeee to. I have given in a few times over the past three weeks and I knew I'd be breaking out from it sooner or later so it may just be catching up with me now.. who know's.. No jojoba oil in the mail yet, maybe tomorrow! I am not incredibly dry or flaky yet.. actually a lot of the peeling that I had with epiduo is going away, thank God, I cannot handle peeling when wearing foundation. I haven't stopped wearing it because I simply don't think I'm brave enough to go places without...yet. I'm using a little over a pea sized amount on my face now and will use a tiny bit more thursday when it's been a week. Sigh. That's all the news for now.

Your skin may be purging, which is normal. You're going to find that your skin will probably be flaky as it adjusts. I still get flakes at times, but a bit of extra moisturizing should do the trick, or even switching to a tinted moisturizer (I think that was my life saver in some instances). Just make sure it's noncomedogenic!

So tonight will be an entire week on the regimen... thoughts so far. Not too bad, not too good. My skin was majorly flaky yesterday and annoying, I don't get it.. I have very oily skin, yet still peeling all over, ugh! I have two new breakouts on my cheeks. :/ So I'm not incredibly bad, but I'm not better than I was when I started. I got the jojoba oil in the mail today so I guess I'm going to increase the amount of bp tonight and try some of the oil on my face. I'm only doing it on my chin for a few days to see if I break out there, cause I hardly ever break out on my chin.. Does anyone know of a really good coverage drugstore concealer? I've always used a covergirl concealer cause it's really easy to blend and never breaks me out, but I need something that really covers all my scarring.... so if anyone can help, I'd be oh so happy. I'm praying my face will look amazing soon.. sigh.

Wellll, tonight will be one week and four days on the regimen. Only have one breakout at the moment. yayy.. I've still not gotten up to a finger's length or anywhere near that yet... I'm using a little over a pea sized amount.. too scared to make it more.. I would be afraid my face would flake off... I haven't started using it in the morning either, don't know if I will :/ I dunno if my foundation would look good underneath all that.. I have been using the jojoba oil on my chin since I got it in the mail last thursday, no breakouts so far so I think I'm about to start using it all over my face. Sigh, scary! I am still peeling every dayy, it's so lovely. Ha.

Tonight is two weeks on the regimen.. it's went by pretty fast.. I don't have any active breakouts on my face at the moment. *crosses fingers* I was feeling pretty bad yesterday, because regardless of no breakouts my face looks so crappy... like when I put foundation on all the flakes show up and I look horrible :/ but this morning I decided to try rubbing jojoba oil on my face after I washed it and it took most of all the flakes off.. I was sooo happy and my face didn't bother me today, but I also didn't wear any foundation so we shall see how that works. I'm hoping for the best, now I just want my scars gone! I've ate a lot of sweets this week and hope that I don't pay for that later on... I'm hoping for the best!

Well....four new breakouts on my face sad.gif ughhh.. One on my forehead, two on my right cheek, and one on my chin.. I'm wondering if it's from the regimen or from the sweets I ate last week. Sigh. I just want to be through breaking out! It's not a horrible, just annoying.. I just hate having to cover up and go to college with the horrible lights that make your face look terrible.. I don't want to have to worry about it anymore. But I'm only two weeks and four days in.. so I am still not at that long away three month mark.

Thanks! I'm definitely gonna keep it up, it's just hard sometimes..but what's the alternative, using nothing and breakout out more? Lol..

Okay... tomorrow night will be three weeks.. I have a few questions.. I am not doing the regimen exactly.. I mean, I think if I used an entire length of bp on my face it would fall off! I don't use bp on my forhead because it never breaks out.. I've slowly started using a little more bp.. nowhere near a full fingers length.. like half of the length from my nail to my knuckle, I'm not good with measurements haha. I looked at my face today and it started having the cracking dryness! It's never done this before, it's always been the kind of peeling where I can rub it off with my finger, but now it is stuck to my face and the only way to remove it is by tweezers or a jojoba oil rub in the morning before foundation.. I don't know if rubbing my face with oil everyday is good for my face or will cause more breakouts? Also I'm wondering if rubbing my face with jojoba oil has cause my face to be way more dry or if it's just from being on bp for so long, anyone have any thoughts on that? Idk.. I don't have any new breakouts, well maybe like one on my nose, but it doesn't bother me cause it's so small.. and I feel a really weird one underneath my skin.. I felt two just like it two weeks ago or so.. but they never came to the surface so I'm hoping this one doesn't either.. I just felt like ranting, this is the only place I can talk about my face and other people are actually going through the same problems.. most people I talk to in my life say " oh please, you're face isn't that bad, stop caring so much." Wonder how much they'd care if they had to deal with it 24/7.. Sigh. I'm through!

I feel ya, Lauren. Acne is absolutely no fun. I don't use a full finger of BP either, once you have an amount that keeps your face clear (even if it's flaky) slowly decrease the amount until you're face is still clear, but it's not overly dry. That's what I'm doing, anyway.

Thanks for the reply^! :] I haven't gotten completely clear...Things seem to be getting worse actually and once again I dunno whether it's the "purging" process or the sugar I seem to be consuming lately.. UGH.. three new breakouts today alone.. it's been awhile since that happened.. I had one breakout yesterday too.. they seem to like to all stay in the same area on the same cheek too. It's much more embarrasing that way.. ooohh the loveliness of it all.. It is midterms in college too and we all know how stressful that is.. Thursday will be the one month mark and I just used bp in the daytime for the first time today... omgah, I'm so ready for clear skin I could scream! sad.gif Gotta keep up the routine. Sigh.

Today is 12 weeks for me on the DKR, which means I've completed three months. While my skin is clearer, it's nowhere near completely clear. I'm still having small breakouts and my blackheads are still there. But because I've seen improvement, I'm going to continue. I've had to go back to one pump of BP because of the flakiness. So I guess what I want to say is be very patient--it may take longer for the DKR to work its magic. I know that you want to see amazing results now, but even some good results are better than none. If you're wanting to see if what you're eating is the factor, then cut out what you think is the culprit for about two weeks (I think scientists have said that it takes about 10 days for a pimple to form, so two weeks should let you know). If you see no change, then it may not be the sugar or whatever else.l

Hey Lauren smile.gif you should add some pictures to show your progress! Ive been on DKR for about 2 months but I went way too fast with the BP and ended up with the craziest flakes on my face lol, so I had to stop entirely and start over. Just make sure you don't ramp up the BP just because you're not clear, that was my mistake lol. Also a couple posts ago you were asking about foundation, I like the Maybelline concealer and Maybelline dream liquid mousse, most of their stuff is non comedogenic and has good coverage smile.gif keep us updated and don't give up girl!

Thanks for the replies! So sweet. I am definitely going to try to be more patient.. and to stop studying my face with a mirror that seems to make every spot on my face look ten times worse! Haha. It's not the end of the world, although sometimes it feels like it.. Thanks for the recommendations on foundations. I can't wear any foundation besides almay nearly naked for some reason. I do use maybelline concealer though. I'm going to definitely cut out sweets for awhile and see how that helps.. About the pictures. I am way to self conscious to take pictures of myself without makeup. I barely let my sister see me without foundation, we are both really self conscious about our skin. haha, ridiculous I know.

Tell me about it! No coverage at all.. it also has sort of a dewy finish.. I wonder if that's why I can only wear it.. I have oily skin, but whenever I put on a foundation that is matte it starts to cake and look awful. Have no clue why! I have to use tons of concealer if I want good coverage at all.. unfortunately you can still see my scars through my foundation sad.gif One day I'll find my HG foundation! lol.
