I'm wrapping up a low dose regime of acutane and I think we need a review section that is specific to this mode of delivery. Standard dose and low dose are really 2 different animals. Thoughts? eusa_think.gif

I've also just started a low dose accutane treatment (10mg daily) and would like to see some reviews. I'm only 7 days in so it'd be nice to know what's coming up.

Ive been on a ultra low dose course for ages now.

Right now my dose is like 10mg - 15mg a month. I basically cut open 10mg capsules, and split the liquid into loads of empty capsules, so that each dose is basically lower than 2mg, then I take these 2mg capsules once a week, maybe twice if my skin is doing particularly bad.

For the most part I dont suffer from any side effects unless I go overboard with the tane, and as long as I keep my diet clean my skin stays relatively clear, though the threshold is pretty tight, if I eat something bad in my diet my skin usually pays for it.

whats considered low dose? 20mg and under? im interested in taking a low dose for my first course of accutane because less chance of side effects, but i really dont want to relapse and i read your more likely to with a low dose.

a low course would be 10mg a day or even 5 mg a day..... me and a few of my friends went a few courses of higher acutane and makes ur hair fall out badly!!!!!!!!!!!! the boys worse then the girls with severe receding hair lines .. which show after about 6 weeks mark... and then on-wards.... be warned lol!!!!!!! you could compensate having nice skin for going bald.. and then to find that your skin returns a few months later so ur then bald and spotty again!! lol.... so do the low course and take even 1 20mg a week of what i do now is i do 1 week on the 40mg a day and and that will make ur skin bone dry and then take 1 or 2 20mg a week and seriously it works ...even better then the higher dose which make u look like your dieing in every way...
