Day 2 no porn .. failed on the last 5th day becouse i accidently stumbled on  a porn pic and my brain went literally crazy i was also very pressured from school heat get checked out by girls alot which makes me even hornier and when i got out of the 2 day water fast i ate like a pig untill my stomatch felt like blowing up (atleast i regained my weight which is good) and couldnt keep it

hopefully in the vacation i will go atleast 3 months and if it gets easier i might keep abstaining

lost lots of confidence and got some breakouts as always since my last 2 faps  my shoulder almost broke again at school when i was doing something stupid right after the first day i fapped  ...mastrubation really screws me up

What I mean to say is I have pretty good self discipline.  I've watched porn and not masturbated and can continue to do so.

 

My question is, is it the arousal of watching porn, seeing girls, hooking up thats raising my hormones and breaking me out?

 

Or is it solely from ejaculation?  Once more - I can 100% quit ejaculating but I've still been breaking out. 

 

The first time you stop trying to masturbate you may not see results as fast or as permanent in only 1-2 weeks as if you were trying to stop say for the 5th or 6th or nth time. That's how it was with me. It took me 3 weeks to truly see some constant change, and 6 weeks to determine that masturbation was absolutely the cause for me to break out.

 

The deal with porn and sexual thoughts: I think porn doesn't cause you to break out, just by watching it, no sorts of playing around with your D, and neither do sexual thoughts. However, in my 3 year experience trying to stop, I found out that 90% of the time, porn leads to playing around, leads to masturbation, leads to "damn it not again".

 

It's impossible to stop sexual thoughts unless you're a buddhist monk, especially if you say you're around girls often, so don't worry too much about those I would say.

 

When I was at 6 weeks last July, I would think about sex ALL THE TIME. ALL THE TIME. And I didn't have any breakouts until after I started masturbation again.

 

So, my advice is try going 3-4 weeks without watching any porn, just to avoid temptation, and keep to your personal sexual thoughts about girls you meet. One thing I found is that not watching porn makes me also much more attracted to real women again, just try it, if it doesn't work, go crazy.

 

Remember, all you've got to lose are 4 weeks without masturbation, which isn't really your loss as you'll find you also have more focus and energy during that time.

 

I know for me ejaculation is what causes my breakout, as I have gone 3-4 weeks without ejaculation but doing "edging", and I didn't break out after the 3rd-4th week. However, this is terrible practice for your prostate, as you make it produce lubrification fluid and then you feel like you have a baloon behind your belly button and the only way to alleviate it is to wait for a wet dream or masturbate, but until that happens you have a constant pain in your belly and it's horrible, so don't edge.

I am on day 18 and I can promise my face looks 10x worse than it did on day 4.

 

 

I remember 4 days into the experiment, I felt my face clearing and became pimple free for a day or two - I was convinced it was from not masturbating.

 

 

Now its day 18, no masturbation, no playing with my D, temporary porn watching when bored but no expelling/orgasm/etc.

 

My face has broken out almost every other day this past week.  Today it is spotted with old scars, new scars, both active + rising pimples.

 

 

I have been with family these past 4 days as well - absolutely no time to think about girls and a very good diet.  

 

 

 

WHAT THE HELL!!!!!!!! why is this happening.

 

 

Someone convince me to keep following this regimen because I'm really frustrated, stressed, and hopeless AGAIN.  You guys had me convinced this was it - the ultimate solution.  Feel like I'm back to day 1 of not knowing C*** about my acne.  I'm considering perusing the web again for another  "unheard of magical acne remedy professionals deny"

Theoretically there is a connection with watching porn, as this will inherently elevate your hormone levels. Personally I cant tell how much (if at all) this affects me. I do know, that at the very least I get a sort of inflamatory effect. I feel warmer (including face), and this makes my spots and specially old marks more noticeable.

 

At the end of the day, figuring out what exactly affects you its a long personal process. You have to isolate so many variables, and account for outliers. As much as I may want to know whats working for me, I dont have a huge interest in finding out, since I believe that ALL im doing is good anyway (body and mind).

 

dont take this too bad, but your acne doesnt seem to be holding you back in anyway. Many here wish they could meet just one person that they can have a committed relationship with. i feel like you are asking for the easiest path to have cake and eat it too.

Oh and I'm still taking Zinc + vitamin E + Vitamin D3 + Flax oil + multivitamin daily.

 

I wear a small amount of bio-oil during the day.  Use a facial mask every 3 days.

 

Regularly lift + run (creatine + protein supps as well)

 

and I leave manuka honey over the marks over night to no avail... it seems to be accentuating the marks as they're dark red and flaky the next day

I put cover up over the marks and only go out at night in dark environments such as bars.  I never/rarely go out during the day.

 

Whenever there is bright light - I get extremely anxious and feel the need to avoid the situation.  I'm trying to uphold my social standards with my friends that I created while I had clear skin.  It hasn't been easy, I'm sometimes relieved when plans are called off and it's difficult playing hermit in my case.  I'm 21, in NYC, and my friends are the type to drag me out if I'm unwilling.

 

 

I shouldn't complain but its been annoying for my sex life.  Every instance I go home with a girl or bring one back, I have to wash my pimply face before sex and re-cover the spots with my cover up.

 

In one instance, I took especially long and she presumed I was shitting..  I couldn't get fully erect that night and went home blue balled feeling terrible about my ego and my skin simultaneously.

 

I just want my clear skin and confidence back..  I'm a much much better person when I'm clear and not such a nervous, self deprecating wreck

Sorry to hear that Lakers, I used to be pretty nervous and angry when I still was having acne at 21 without any solution in sight, but I forced myself to not think about it and it helped, at least with my nervousness. I found out that many people don't give a damn about it as long as you can be yourself and show them that it doesn't bother you (or pretend it doesn't). I know many people with acne myself, whose acne I notice, since it's THERE, but I don't care about it since I like the people themselves.

 

Your friends seem like open minded people enough not to care, and that doesn't  apply to guys only. Women I found are often attracted to  confidence, especially if you're not the perfect Adonis man but still show confidence. It's like you're saying "yeah I'm awesome and I also have acne, you think I give a fuck?".

 

Constant stress will wear down your system no matter what, you can't go on living like that forever, or you can but it'll affect your mind, body, like it is now.

 

As far as this experiment is concerned, give it another week or two and see what happens. Maybe your body's still adjusting to something. Think about it this way: if it doesn't work, you've got your whole life ahead of you to masturbate as often as you like. If it does work, even partially, you'll have found something that helps. In my opinion you will get stressed alot becouse you arent used to the testosterone surge from abstaining = some acne but after a month and a half+ maybe your hormones could adapt and then you see the change ..

That was some really level headed advice.

 

I can feel the texture of my skin improving (less porous, thicker) but the cysts have taken on a more severe form.  It could just be a temporary break out because my skin feels less "break-out prone".

Look into the protein supplements that you are taking with lifting. Lifting itself cause acne for some. Research it a bit.

Look into the protein supplements that you are taking with lifting. Lifting itself cause acne for some. Research it a bit.

 

I've already understood that correlation but I've been lifting since the 10th grade (6 years now).

 

I had clear skin last year and was around 5'9 167 then (lots of muscle mass)

I cut down and am now 155, do a lot more cardio, less lifting (more calisthenics) so I don't see why my testosterone would shoot up.

 

 

I've had bacne in the past from intense work outs but never a spot on my face ( was always very cautious about cleaning/hygiene ).

 

My supplements currently include 2 scoops of gold standard whey (as opposed to 3-4 in the past) and 1 teaspoon creatine monohydrate.

I'm also eating better since I am not in college and can cook for myself at home - I'm almost convinced that I'm perfectly healthy.

 

I'm also afraid of "over lifting" or reaching a point where I get a workout-high and become a gym rat for 2 hours feeling swoll non stop - I could see how that could lead to testosterone spikes.  I take it relatively easy now and even wear head bands so I don't drench in sweat like the old days.



 

I've noticed my acne worsen when I've taken droughts from the gym and would not work out for 2-3 weeks.

 

Could lessening my work out routine possibly lead to these break outs??

I was a lot more aggressive when I would lift rigorously and had clear skin, but I thought testosterone was the culprit of all of this.

My experience with exercise is jogging and sprinting (30 minutes at night) and 15 mins of sit ups, 20 mins of varied push-ups and 15 mins of really intense wrist curls to try and strengthen my forearms.

So far I've never been able to maintain it for more than 2 weeks straight (5 days a week) while also going 3-4+ weeks abstaining, but I will try to now and let you know what I found out. I know it's not as intense as lifting, but I do my exercises properly and I can feel that intensity surging in me when I do them, probably the testosterone. I'll keep you updated on this part.

 

Another thing on bad breakouts in the 3rd week: yes, I DID have them, and yes, they did make me feel like opening a bottle of jack and opening 5 simultaneous browser windows to 5 different porn videos and saying to hell with it all, but the times I did get past the 3rd week it would usually stabilize itself, I guess sometimes it takes longer. I don't know if any of your supplements and protein stuff is having any effect on you, I doubt it though, just try to avoid heavy drinking of Coke and soft drinks every day, I found that too much Coke does affect my skin though. This is probably totally random though.

My blemishes/cysts from breakouts 2-3 days ago are fading quickly!!

 

 

The left side of my face is 100% clear, the right side is starting to look symmetrical.

The 2 bumps on my forehead have gone down and overall, my face looks pretty normal unless you shined a light at it and saw the red marks.

 

Also, I quit soda 2 years ago when I started lifting hard - never went back.

 

 

I don't drink coffee, take any stimulants, eat very healthily and balanced since its been a part of my life style and routine for years now.

 

I do smoke a fair amount of weed before going to bed at night, but I doubt that does anything harmful since I vaporize it out of a volcano.

I also exercise a lot like you guys - sometimes manage 7 days a week, altough I do it all at home. Its never really effected my acne positively or negatively but I guess it must help more as it gets you sweating and clears the pores?
Also a note to anyone eating Protein bars with soya in, they can aggrevate your skin a lot, I recently figured out they were the cause to the majority of my breakouts - so look out for it!

Hey man, one effect of reducing/stopping masturbation is definitevely faster healing, even if you break pimples (but disinfect after with some 70% rubbing alcohol and put some clean spit on it), you'll notice scabs form a lot faster and heal after faster as well.

 

Since this is your first time trying this experiment, be careful with the number one trap most of us fall into: over-optimism. "Oh look, I finally got my acne under control, I'll masturbate just once cause that's totally a reasonable thing to do right? Right?" Then you get breakouts again and you get pissed off and masturbate some more and it's hard to get back on track.

 

I'm not saying never masturbate again, just see your experiment trough to the end with the number of weeks you've decided to go, 4 or 5 or whatever, and then if you want masturbate to see if there's a negative reaction and if this really affects you go for it. Just don't fall into the over-optimism trap, it's so nice to see your skin clear after having acne for 10-13 years or whatever, you just feel happy for yourself but after doing it it's like "uuuuuuuuuuuugggggggghhhhhhhhhh".

On the 3-4 occasions where I hadn't masturbated for 3-4 weeks and got nocturnal emissions, I found that my acne didn't really change. I think this is because nocturnal emissions are really like peeing, your body just empties excess stuff, but when you wake up during a wet dream you generally don't feel the same rush you feel when you orgasm awake, so I think your body doesn't produce the same chemicals that affect your acne when you wet dream, because it's really just an emptying mechanism. That's my experience.

 

Like you do feel a sort of rush, but it's a lot calmer, like waking up after a sort of massage, dunno if you can relate to this. Your face doesn't feel heated up or your blood isn't rushing like mad, and the euphoria you feel is maybe a 1/10 of masturbation. Mostly I feel pleasant especially if I was dreaming something remotely normal, like kissing a girl or hugging her.

I fucked it up.....

 

maaan...third time since i began this in early may that i cant get pass the 13 or so mark....

 

i began working out since i came back from the trip, and felt hornier lol...i think the muscle pumping feel makes you psychologically more desirable, or maybe the work out testosterone...or both.

 

anyway...i actually feel bad this time because: 1. we were doing this 90 day streak together....2. i ended up binging...the most since I first began.   3. i got some things to look forward to (it looks like i will get a decent job offer soon, and want to take advantage of the ancillary side effects once i start)

 

ok...currently on day 1....i wont be back until i get to day 20 at least.
