Masturbation / Acne Experiement 2010 // 2011 // 2012 !

im doing it to.

Masturbation doesnt cause acne for everyone. it does for me, so im doing the 100 day challenge and am on my 2nd day.

after the 100 days, im hoping my body would have healed or fixed the problem so i can masturbate again without acne.

a guy who got acne from drinking milk stopped for 6 months, the when he started again he didnt get acne from it anymore.

when i stop masturbating, i feel much better everyday. i get more enjoyment and stimulation out of life, and im not as anxious anymore. i can talk to the hottest girls and my stage fright isnt as bad. its not cause the acne dissapeears, its cause its good for mental and physolical health.

also workouts are better.

God damn some of you people are dense... correlation does not equal causation and there is NO proof that not masturbating prevents acne. You're all doing this for no reason at all.

Hey caveman, I don't know why this works for me, but it does. A few weeks ago I was at like 45+ something days, and I would get maybe 2 small pimples a week which would dissapear by the next day.

Then I decided to try masturbating again to experiment and in the following week I had like 8-9 scars on my face of varying size, 3-4 on my back and chest. I decided to keep going by masturbating once or twice a week, and the pimples kept coming.

Now that I stopped again, the pimples stopped appearing again. Most of us don't believe it's a religious thing like that huge post about praying to Allah or any other god which got deleted, but we do believe it has something to do with hormones in general. All I know is that for me it works. Why? Don't know.

And as I always say, if you try this experiment, all you have to lose is nothing. Going 30-40 days without masturbating just means your next orgasm is going to feel mind blowing, and 30-40 days out of your entire life is nothing. Some people for whom it didn't work also made themselves watch less porn, and realized they were compulsive about it. All in all it's a harmless experiment, even for those who believe not orgasming leads to prostate cancer - I doubt you'll get prostate cancer in 30-40 days.

This has been working consistently for me for many months now. It is definitely worth a try for anyone serious about finding the root cause of their acne.

I agree, for us it is a hormonal acne, for others there might be other reasons so you cant just say that because it didnt work for you it wont work for others.

I have mild acne, and a lot of blackheads, and some scarring. I have been masturbating ever since I was around 16. I have always had acne since. I have noticed that if were to stop for around 2 weeks my acne would clear up. I am 20. I will try to do this experiment ....

I am on Day 9.

Oh boy...didn't pass Day 7..but it's already a big improvement and it helped me figure out that my acne on the jawline are definitely hormonal...This morning, I woke up with three new pimples on my jawline, they are cystic and big.. Back to 0 and today is Day 1. Hope this time will last longer.

I think I'll give this a go. Abstaining from masturbation was/is never too much trouble for me. If it helps my hormones balance then hey let's go.

Day 1.

I'm gonna try and log the days here.

I a little brief overview with me and my masturbation contrĂ¡ acne expreiment: I recently went 29 days back in november and I can tell from personal experience that it gets easier to "control" as days go by. The first 4-5 days are the absolutely hardest, but then the urge gets less persistent and easier to control. The best thing to do is really just keeping yourself busy with something - a game, homework, reading.

But where is movies, facebook and being together with friends, you might ask. I'm gonna tell you. From my experience it's a bad idea to make use of the 2 first things when trying not to jack off mostly because it contains the opposite sex - the thing that makes us horny in the first place. Facebook is fucking hell when you are trying to keep the urge down - all the pictures of girls, girls at parties with low dresses and so on, also featured a lot in movies and even on the street for those fellas who live in hot countries. If we want to stop masturbating we need to eliminate the root - the urge and what causes the urge in the first place.

Keep Facebook at a minimum, just stay at the frontpage or go into a male friends or picture less profile in order to answer the messages you'll get. No browsing around, also avoid websites you know contains a lot of adds (adds = 90% of the time its porn). Movies should also be kept at a minimum or even eliminated and of course porn is BANNED and you can figure the cause out yourself without much help.

A day at college, university etc. will most likely feature a lot of looking at girls, especially in the summer it can be hard keeping the fantasizing at the low end and when you get home you have the extreme urge to "do it" (im not talking about raping the girls you've given looks through the day, dont worry) when that feeling hits you - do something else than facebook, porn, movies, browsing around the net spending lot's of time looking at the pornhub adds and you will likely have taken a big step in the right direction.

Failures are tolerable, the most important thing is that you are trying to control your urge when it hits and keeping the urge away the first place! Follow my instructions and give "no-fap" a chance or two. You can also say that you are going for 4 days without wetting your hand, tissue, underpants or whatever. When those 4 days are over, fap, and then go for 6 days. fap, go for 9 days and so on.

If masturbating triggers my acne am I still questioning, but I'm gonna try and go for 40 days and im starting today and then I'll hope to see a difference.

My acne isn't as bad as a lot's of people around here, but it's still affecting my confidence and it's never good to walk around and feel bad about the way you look.

So, im starting here; day 1!

Good luck and love to everyone.

I'm confused is everyone still following some type of Skin care regimen while undergoing this 30 days without masturbating? Wondering just because I want to give this a shot and see if it helps without any type of Skin care regimen.

-Thanks!

Day 2.

Later today I will be going to a pre-party and then later head into town with a couple of others. That means bad food and alcohol, but I can't refuse it either, the other guys will just think im weird. Im just looking forward to next 4 days where I have nothing planned and can relax/sleep some more (heading for the 10-11 hours)

So far as I can tell I got no breakouts from the alcohol and shitty food last night. Skin is actually looking the best i'ts been in weeks, only 2 spots on my forehead, but I can easily cope with that.

Hello everyone, I have been reading posts on this forum for about a year now. Trying to figure out what is the cause of my acne. I've tried everything from antibiotics, to multiple soaps and shampoos, to lifestyle changes such as diet and exercise. However none of that drastically helped, may have decreased my breakouts a bit but did not stop them. I started getting breakouts on my back when I was about 18, I am now 22. I have never had major acne on my face, maybe a small pimple here and there but thats about it. However, I would get cystic acne on my back that was pretty bad. About a year or two after I started breaking out on my back I started getting acne on my chest. Not as much as my back but still some pretty big pimples. About a year and half ago I started getting acne on my scalp, as much as my back acne bothered me, once I started getting acne on my scalp It drove me insane. I knew I had to put an end to this. I did absolutely everything, maintained great hygiene, exercised, ate well, drank water, didn't use any hair products, stopped my occasional drinking and my occasional weed smoking, took antibiotics, took multi-viatmins,got a shower head water filter, used detergent for sensitive skin, got sufficient sleep every night...you name it I tried it. However, there was always one thing I thought could have been causing my acne on that was masturbation, excessive masturbation I should add. But I was so addicted to masturbation and internet pornography, where I was in denial for a long time and kept trying to tell myself that wasn't the cause of it. When my acne was at its worst, was when I was masturbating the most. Started when I was about 13-14, but then started doing it excessively at about 16. I masturbated about twice a day give or take consistently for a couple years. And not to mention I would do it for hours a day, I would hold it in for hours until I would finally ejaculate.

I recently moved to a new city to finish my undergrad, and it has drastically motivated me to put this acne we are all dealing with to an end. Being in my comfort zone for all these years just made me accept the acne and deal with it. Now that i'm in a new environment, I want to feel comfortable and confident in meeting new people and doing new things. And it's not going to happen unless I put this plague to an end. I've quit masturbation about 3 times now for about two weeks at a time then I gave in. It's tough, not going to lie. However when I did stop I started seeing improvments, but I didn't stop long enough to see the goals I'm GOING to reach.I am currently about to get to 3 weeks on Thursday, and I am seeing results. I don't have any new break outs on my back or on my chest, and the redness from old acne is also decreasing. My scalp is also doing better but not 100%. Not to mention I am still doing all the other things as well (exercising, drinking alot of water, eating good, etc). Also, I noticed showering TOO much makes acne worse, you have to find the right balance in order to treat your acne. Excessive washing causes dryness which leads to excessive oil production. It's best for me to shower once every 3 or 4 days. If you are suffering from acne and if you masturbate a lot, trust me it's worth a shot to stop. This is not the case for everybody, everybody's body is different. And you cannot stop for a few days or even a week or two. I've come to realize you have to stop for at least a month to see some solid results. So give it a shot along with the other obvious things and you wont regret it.

I'll take this new year's day to make an encouraging post to you all having trouble quitting.

I started quitting 2-3 years ago. Before that I had masturbated almost every day, for about 7 years, sometimes twice or three times a day. I think I messed up my body badly during these times, I think it's ok to masturbate sometimes when you're young, but not at the rate I was doing it. Masturbation doesn't compare with sex either, I think you can have sex often and not harm yourself, but masturbation is just nasty when you're doing it regularly, at least for some people like me.

The first year I tried to quit sucked, I got to 2 weeks a few times but when I relapsed it cancelled out, as I would relapse badly. I used to cheat, tell myself "next time", edge, watch porn, but I knew it gave results so I kept going. My biggest mistake was cheating, instead of just telling myself "ok, go 1 week, or 2 weeks, then do it".

You gotta approach it like someone who smokes too much. First you start cutting down consumption in small steps, then you focus on longer goals.

The second year was more or less the same thing, but the relapses weren't as bad. I had more focus. I could have quit here but I guess I just didn't want to, since I had no specific goals, like for a long time job prospect or something to accomplish. I didn't care if I felt like shit and looked like shit. It was just "ok, you feel like shit? Mastubate!", except in the end even that didn't feel satisfying anymore, like a drug addict who needs more. If you're not focusing on doing something you want which makes you happy, and you're naturally lazy like me, it can be tough, so find hobbies and jobs for yourself, decide to become a millionaire or something.

Now 2013 was by best year, in total I masturbated maybe 20 times this year, so a little under twice a month. That's down from 1, 2 times a day 3 years ago. Today is day 26 for me, and I intend to leave 2013 behind with this habit of mine in it. I always even thought to myself whenever I caved: "Fucking 2013, it's an unlucky year!", haha. I focused on goals like finishing school, exercising to get back in my old physical shape and wanting to regain my sanity, as whenever I used to masturbate heavily my mind would often focus on negative shit.

Comparing myself to 3 years ago, my face used to be filled with 20+ dots from popped pimples, today I have maybe 3-4 every other week, usually small ones, and sometimes from ingrown hairs instead of pimples, which is another issue completely. I'm pretty sure I damaged something inside of me in terms of hormone release through my teenage habbits, but if I give it enough time it may go back to normal.

So good luck to you all, consider 2013 as the "unlucky" year haha, and use 2014 to your advantage. Once you get past 3 weeks, it always gets easier.

You may be right on that. I have sex often, but not like a rabbit if your wondering. It does not compare as nothing happens. But then again im not in my teens either which probably would mean something if i was.

I do not see how you can masturbate that much tbh. I did it, but nothing like what people here say. Which makes me wonder if there hormones are that much out of balance whether by teenage growth or dietary influence. Getting a hold on this may help the urge. Just practice self control? Seems ease enough, but i bet its not.... as people do not know where to start or how to effectively practice it when there used to giving in to temptation. As a kid growing up on a farm I did not have the leisure time to afford such acts. Maybe thats the difference.

I like checking back on this thread as it assumes me, unfortunately-this being the way people think (not the act).

Yeah, self control is tough if you allow it to become a habbit. You don't even think about it, you just do it. It also doesn't help that there's dumb websites out there that encourage young people to masturbate because it "improves immune system, cardio, mental health and overall well being, and it also teaches you about sex." Edit: just as a side note, I haven't been sick even once in the past 2 years, which is coincidentally the time I started controlling myself more and more, whereas before I'd have a cold once or twice a year, every year.

There's about as much misinformation on the adverse effects of daily masturbation as there was on smoking cigarettes in the 50s, when there were adds saying "Even doctors smoke xyz brand.".

I was on day 25 or so, and I gave in. I moved back to college after winter break, and I was feeling depressed. I'm not sure why, but I felt like shit. I decided to masturbate then I did again later. I was seeing some improvements on my back, but nothing drastic on my scalp. This is becoming a tough pill to swallow, I keep going back and forth to what I think is causing my acne. I few things I noticed while I wasn't masturbating was that my hair was still getting very oily, the day after I shower my hair starts getting noticeably greasy. As well as my skin. I was upset about giving in, but I thought about it and I'm proud of myself. I went 25 days without masturbating and watching porn after doing it almost every day. And just because I gave in, dosen't mean I'm going to go back to my old habits. Regardless of whether or not it is causing my acne, it's a bad habit that I do not want to go back to. I'm going to still continue doing everything I can to find a solution, this only motivated more. I ate well previously, but it could get better. I'm going to start eating VERY well, (fruits and vegetables, minimal lean meats (no red meat, pork) drink lots of water, limit dairy as much as possible, and only whole grains.Im going to go see a dermatologist and also have some blood work done.

Fellow members it only makes it harder when you keep track of how many days you have gone, regardless of whether or not it is causing your acne, you should make it a change in your lifestyle to not masturbate excessively. It's not good for your self-esteem, its pathetic as an adult, and it can only make your acne worse...it's definitely not making it better. So I'm not going to sit here and say, "back to day one", I'm going to continue the lifestyle I have been living for the past 25 days.
