Just wondering if any of you guys can give me advice. I have numerous hypertrophic scars on my chin and one really big hypertrophic scar on the tip of my nose (its really noticeable...). All the scars came from previous cystic acne break outs. I'm a teenager and still do get occasional really bad cystic acne breakouts (that sometimes turn into scars) but I'm breaking out less and less since I am taking antibiotics now. I was wondering what solutions I could take to get rid of the horrid hypertrophic scars I have on my nose and chin. Any laser or dermatologist treatments are out of the question since they cost a fortune @_@. I was thinking of silicon sheets as an alternative but I wonder if they will make me break out even more instead of healing my scars because I have really oily skin on my face. Any advice? confused.gif

i have no idea what works for raised scarring...i have spent heaps of time on this and pretty much all of it doesn't work well or consistently enough to compensate for the risk (i.e. making the scarring even more raised).
Perhaps in time it will flatten?

hey i think you should go see a derm. they're not that expensive actually. my derm sees me once a month and its $100 each session, he rotates between steroid shots and laser. im also on antibiotics (doryx) and differin (which he makes me put on the scars too)

time is one thing that has not helped my hypertrophic scars at all. they've actually spread out.

Kenalog injections. I had a small raised scar on my nose, and after three injection it went flat. That stuff works wonders.
