Do piercings like the nose, eyebrow or anywhere else on the face get infected by acne? Ive always wondered that.

And if you have acne on your nose can you get it pierced? My friend was planning to and im like hmmmm I dont know if bacteria will cause an infection. ninja.gif

Anyways some guy was saying nose piercings look like pimples. I was like wow you an asshole.

I think that anyone should be allowed to get piercings with or without acne. Thats just stupid.

When you get a piercing, the piercer should always give you information on how to keep the piercing sanitary while it heals (some places even give you a solution to use to cleanse the area).

Providing that the shop that you get the piercing done at is clean and reputable, the freshly pierced area should be sanitary when you leave the shop (even if you have acne, the piercer will sanitize the area before piercing it). If it gets infected after that, it's because you failed to keep it so.

They definitely can. I got my first cyst ever in my ear lobe after I got it pierced.

^ I'm the same way. Anything with nickel makes my skin get crazy. Sterling silver, stainless steel, and gold are not issues. C'est brings up a good point though. Making sure to keep up with cleaning the pierced site is a must, and keep in mind that some sites need a much longer time to heal than earlobes.

I would definitely not pierce any infected site for I'd fear that can further spread infection. Just like when I was getting my tattoos done on my back, the lady had to pop any and all pimples before she started. I remember cringing and telling her it was wayyyy to painful. She then said that if I couldn't handle her popping the pimples on my back, how the hell was I going to get a tattoo. Turns out the pimple popping hurt 10x worse than the tattoo. Seriously.

You can, just I'd be hesitant to pierce an area that has existing acne. Like, I wouldn't pierce over a pimple.

Ive had my lip pierced for like 2 or 3 years now. I wear a tiny stud, size 18 I believe, and Ive had a few times where Ive gotten a white head or red bump right next to it. And it is very noticeable.

As for nose piercings, I think little black studs kinda look like blackheads but I rarely see those.
