Imagine putting the peroxide all over me ,and you might be right that the highest the peroxide the better ,I used to color my hair blonde when I was younger and sometimes I would even use sun in ,and I remember I never had any problem with my scalp or flakes ,I mean after I started coloring my hair darker I think that I started with the flaking and the bumps ,no wonder most women rather color their hair and kill all the fungus on their scalp .
What is the percentage of the peroxide that you are using ,you didn't mention it .
Because of you are going through ,you are going to be a doctor who will pay attention to his patients ,thanks for sharing .
I have hypothyroidism, and im taking synthroid.

3% works fine for me.
Yea I'm blonde and it will definitely mess with your hair color. Might be easier to manage the hair color/tone change from HP use than finding an alternative solution to skin problems though. Of course my solution might not work for everyone. My particular case was itchy, flaky, inflammed scalp and sometimes a red hot face and neck. Started during puberty.
I highly prefer the slightly bleached look than the flaky red flushed look.
Always rinse HP; don't leave it on skin or a wound for too long. I leave it on my scalp for a little over 2 minutes and less than a minute on other places.

I have always thought that peroxide kills germs .
When I get itchy on my scalp ,I just put some peroxide on the spot ,and it really kills whatever is there.
I have tried the 10%persa gel if I get lazy , and it works too, well that is what I mostly do, because if I put the liquid peroxide then my hair turns blonde .
I mean everybody here at home wants me blonde, they don't like it when I go dark , and going back in time ,that is how my problems started ,right on my hairline.
An update ....no more redness,no more burning on my skin above my upper lip,no more flaking eyebrows, and 3pimples are dead ,just the brown spot remained ,but they are getting lighter every day,
Only one pimple that still healing , it shows a little whitehead, but I think it must be flaky skin.
I wore make-up yesterday.
I have no more anxiety .
I think that this flare up is under control now.
I'm thinking positive that I might have this flare up going into remission.
I have no special diet ,I'm only avoiding dairy products, or if I eat, I eat only a little, like cheese.
I bought some organic mamma chia cranberry lemonade from target to help with my digestion and I also keep drinking the coconut milk that a serving in the morning before eating breakfast, and another serving in the evening after dinner ,around 6 or 7.and I think that this has kept me regular.

yeah im a man and i have dark hair so i dont think so hahaha
People use hydrogen peroxide to lighten their hair as i see in youtube though. Some people say that their hair are falling cause of it in the comments section so i dont know.
I am currently checking vitamins and diet to see what happens so i cant say if it works for me or not but the multi vitamins supplement was very promising as it helped me a little with this condition.

Sometimes our skin also needs adjusting to the topicals that we use ,according to the weather.
My vaporub experiment seems to be going well so far .
I'm doing my same routine, it's hard for me to see whiteheads peeking, but not big,and not extracting them, but it seems that way I don't irritate my skin and pimples or whiteheads exfoliate on their own.
I also have noticed that on an open pimple dab with a qtip will do better than putting extra vicks vaporub.
I'm still using qtips to apply the Vicks ,I got some cheap ones at the dollar store ,since they are bendable,it seems that I don't irritate my skin, and that way I don't contaminate the jar of Vicks.
I haven't got new pimples so far,and I have been wearing make-up.

So I stopped using it, but, now I don't know what to use anymore,I get really impatient when a pimple stays forever, the vaporub will take care of a pimple faster of its not squeezed.
So I had one that appear while using the vaporub on my cheek and I was impatient and I squeezed, and it kind of form into a pimple that didn't go away ,I mean it exfoliated but it left kind of a wart pimple, so I applied acnomel during the day and pretty much was gone by next day , when I removed the vaporub in the morning with the make-up remover towels , it exfoliated , like dry skin.
Does anybody get this kind of pimples that don't want to go away, and kind of need to be exfoliated.
I have really clogged pores.Sometimes I think that I have everything combined, rosacea, eczema, seborrheic dermatitis, and cystic acne.
My skin is almost clear , but the problem areas, are my upper lip and chin, kind of perioral dermatitis.
Also I ate too much sugar and breads during the thanksgiving holiday.
I think that all skin conditions react to sugar,....flekkin mentioned something like, he was eating a pretty unhealthy diet, but drinking coffee, and I read that coffee is now recommended to prevent diabetes.there are no specific studies I guess, but I was googling something like diabetes diet, and that is how I found this information.
Because I thought, maybe I need to go on a diabetes diet , no sugar.
But they include grains and I thought ,I can't have wheat , for example if I have honey nut cheerios with milk, for breakfast , an hour later I feel shaky and like I didn't eat anything.
Also I went and Google sulfur, does anybody here take any supplements and what is the dose and brand?

I'm about to go on a dairy/gluten free diet to see if it helps with my seb derm/chest/scalp acne. I always use canola/olive oil to cook my food, is this safe to use while on the diet?
Vegetable oils contain oleic acid which supposedly aggravates seb derm when used topically. But what about when they are consumed internally?

Right now I'm still using vicks at night, on the morning the benzoyl peroxide treatment from, acne.org , and spot treatment with acnomel. , only a little since it can be very drying and also switched my cleanser to the Neutrogena glycerin soap original fragrance free .since I remember that is what I used in my younger years , that soap really strips everything out of the face , even make-up, and I have been using that bar of soap for my body too.Well, one for my body, another one for my face.My body felt like I was getting dry skin, but I think it was the soap removing the film from the cetaphyl soap.
I said , why not, that is the soap that people at the nursing homes use.

Now that I have it under control and am just in maintanence mode I am really hardpressed to notice any bleaching affects from HP (only using it every other day for about 1-2 minutes on scalp, spraying it and leaving it on 30 seconds face, neck, armpits, groin). I always completely rinse it out.
It seems crazy to me that people are willing to put benzoyl peroxide on their face for extended periods of time in a cream (all day?!) yet are terrified to briefly apply hydrogen peroxide to their face for 20-30 seconds and rinse it off. The mechanism of action is similar (free radical release from peroxide) and most BP products are something like 10% and the typical HP bottle is 3%. Also the difference between them is supposedly that BP penetrates MORE than HP. Which, on a side note, sounds simply like marketing garbage to me. So I don't see why somebody should be scared of a 3% HP apply and rinse, when they aren't scared of a 10% BP apply and SOAK all day.
Here's my reasoning for doing my apply and rinse HP method over the BP spot apply and soak method. I am basing this on the idea that certain skin conditions are caused by an adverse reaction to a microbe or microbes that are on the skin (or possibly mites). So let's say you have BP and you get a flare up. You apply BP to the spots that look bad and this helps those spots get better a little more quickly by killing the bad guys in that area. But, as soon as you stop putting the BP on those spots, the bad guys from the surrounding skin will quickly migrate back in and multiply. In the end you have changed nothing except for drying out a few areas of your skin in the hope that it will heal faster (and hopefully this didn't create scar as one study in the literature suggests that peroxide can increase the risk of scarring in some people when applied to an open wound). So instead of fighting this protracted battle, I do something else. I kill all the bad guys (or a large % of them), every day or every other day, on ALL surfaces of my skin above my collar bones in a preventative manner by spraying and then rinsing off/out 3% HP. This keeps them from reaching high enough numbers in any location to cause a reaction. That's my logic, and for me it has worked more effectively than even my highest expectations. I have no redness, no blemishes, fewer clogged pores (the sebum isn't accumulating nearly as quickly), and almost no dandruff. My hair is unquestionably healthier despite being doused in peroxide several times a week, and I even got my first tan in 10 years recently (skin doesn't get super irritated by sunlight anymore). Maybe this is just a coincidence, maybe I just got lucky, but I mean... holy shit?
I tried the internal methods as well - balancing my diet, ultra-low carb diet, gluten free diet, excercise, killing the candida in my gut with coconut oil, increasing iodine intake, reducing flouride intake, probiotics etc. The goal being to modulate/balance/boost the immune system. While some of these methods seemed to have some varying degrees of minor to moderate success (for those interested, consistent weight-lifting, iodine intake, and staying on top of brushing my teeth were actually the most noticeably helpful of all the things I listed), none of them gave me what I would consider a REAL solution to my skin problems. That being said, this is what worked for ME, and there definitely ARE some skin conditions that manifest as a result of internal problems. But my intuition tells me that traditional acne, SD, and rosacea (MAYBE certain types of rosacea) don't have their roots internally, or if they do, it may not be something you can fix, so you have to eliminate what your immune system is reacting badly towards.

I have been using the acne treatment from Acne.org during the day,I do apply with a sponge, and spot treat only with acnomel on the pimples that have form skin tissue.
I would wished that I would be able to use peroxide the easy that you do,but, I'm not dark but not fair, either, but I have heard of people spraying the peroxide before.
I apply the peroxide with a sponge because it seems that I don't irritate my skin that way.

Anyways , try to avoid dairy ,I know it's hard ,I ate pizza today ,I couldn't resist.
Fruits like berries and citrus fruit and avocados make me itch.
Lately having this mamma chia drink that I buy at target , the cranberry lemonade and having a banana and some water , has kept me regular , and when I say regular , it's because of my hypothyroidism I was always constipated , so I think in a way it's helping with the Candida , issues.
I was using the coconut milk but it had vitamin b12 .And my body just reacts with any vitamin.
About your question in the oils ,I think that mostly for me cooking makes my face red , and because of that my husband got me one of those plastic cover masks that people use on jobs to cover their faces and guess what , after I was done cooking some steak , and I only put a little olive oil on the pan,I removed the excess with a paper towel , so in reality,I just rub the pan , with the paper towel, well to the point.....the plastic mask was covered with spots from the grease .that means all that grease was meant to get stuck on my face, no wonder I break out , really?
So , it's good to watch your diet and , like my son says , try a slow cooker , it's more healthy ,I still have to do that ,I think I prefer to use oven bags and cook in the oven .
But a slow cooker it's not a bad idea , that way you will avoid grease and oils , on the pan and on your face.
Ok my update,....I had a pimple that was just there , it was like a little old pimple that was just there, so I decided that putting acnomel , on it would exfoliate , that damn little old pimple that never wanted to come out and also didn't have a point.
So I decided , this acnomel really exfoliates , so then during the day I spot treated and at night I did my routine with the Vicks vaporub, guess what, next day a big whole cyst came out , the vaporub pulled that thing out, this morning I removed what could be removed with the make up remover towels
And I just applied the benzoyl peroxide treatment , no acnomel ,I think I used too much .
I have mixed feelings, because I wanted that thing out , but that fast, it's scary and relieving, but this cyst hurts a lot , the yellow pus was showing but I didn't pushed anything out , let's see what happens tomorrow ,I just hope the rest comes out, and doesn't leave scar tissue that will stay in my face for months.
@bostonredbean.....yes , the ketonazole is an antimicrobial drug that has the capacity to reduce androgen synthesis.
I have been reading about anti-androgen therapy on the dermnetnz.org
Posted 11 December 2014 - 01:28 AM
Well the acnomel, peels the skin, so it made the Vicks vaporub to work overnight and the cyst came out , big , big, some pus came out next day, so I got kind of impatient because I had the worst pain, the reason I wanted to have it out, was because if my pimples are not fully extracted they form this weird kind of scar tissue that looks like a pimple that never goes away or simply will take forever.
The vaporub didn't form this pimple,I had it before I started using the Vicks.
So I had to go back to my Neutrogena clear pore cleanser/mask, and the now jojoba oil for the day .on the messy cyst I just drench it in jojoba oil, because of the dryness.
Other than that, no other problems I just got impatient.
My face seems to be very reactive, and it seems that my skin has gone through a lot of changes, and doesn't agree with chemical or manual exfoliation anymore.
Posted 11 December 2014 - 07:50 PM
Ok my skin forms this pore clog ,I can see the pore with keratin , but sometimes it exfoliates like flakes others , expelles a whitehead or just a big cystic bump with a pore or no pore, unpredictable.
Also my skin feels like it burns and after the redness subsides it leaves like a brown line,I have one on top of my lip. The ones on the side at the bottom of my cheeks are gone now, my problem area are my chin and my upper lip , the sides of my nose still get these whiteheads that can flake or exfoliate, but when they exfoliate, sometimes not the whole whitehead comes out, it can come piece by piece and feels like sometimes the whitehead retreats and hides.
What the heck is going on.I don't get it.
To tell you the truth , the dermatologists have said, seborrheic dermatitis on hairline ,eczema all over ,acne .And the other answer or assumption was I have no idea, we can treat it with Accutane or the spirinolactone , or if I prefer I could see the Stanford specialist.
Oh I just want to cry.
I control the burning during the day with jojoba first and then apply the benzoyl treatment from the acne.org on top .I feel like the peroxide is the one that calms the burning, not the jojoba oil.
Sometimes I feel like a have a fungal infection.
Posted 13 December 2014 - 03:56 PM
The big cyst that already exploded ok, that means second day? Kind of, right now it's healing, but it doesn't help to be impatient.if left alone it would have heal by now.
The other side of the face, has kind of cleared.
I took the pics as closest as I could, my camera can make me look clear , but I didn't want to,I don't mind the scars , really ,I mind the pain of the cystic acne and the redness that doesn't stop burning.
Oh , what is wrong with me.

First make sure you don't have bangs, make sure your hair is never on your forehead and always to the side or up, this is actually a big cause to why i got mine. It travels from your hair to your face and eyebrows when you have bangs on your forehead.
Second, i recommend using a combo of zinc soap and antifungal shampoo (nizoral anti dandruff shampoo). I also use antifungal cream as well just to help.
Also, make sure your hair is dandruff free. Still not having bangs is a big deal because even if you think your dandruff free on your hair even a small amount in your hair will ruin your face if you have bangs.
My face has improved drastically and i believe soon enough it will be completely gone. To be honest its going slower than i hope but i guess thats just the way it is.

I used the generic ketoconazole shampoo for my scalp, but didn't do anything, it just made me more itchy.
I used the Neutrogena t-sal , and same thing, the only one that helped was the zinc phithyrotone(sp?) Shampoo on my scalp and body ,it seemed to work for about 2 months. Then didn't.
Right now I don't have a scalp problem,I have been using a sulfate free shampoo and when it starts itching, then I use the daily clarifying shampoo from suave.
Conditioners make my scalp and body itch, so I can only use, like 2 or 3 drops of jojoba oil mixed with 2 drops of lavender oil , I mixed both and lightly apply to my scalp, barely touching it and to the ends and all over, then dry my hair after that.
Some people have tried tea tree oil and it seems to work for them.May be I will later.
For my face , applying the jojoba oil first ,and the acne.org peroxide treatment after ,seems to help with the redness , for now.

Hello all , long time no seek but i was testing a diet !!
As i mentioned in my previous posts just to clear it up what worked for me was so far : ketoconazole cream (fungoral from Johnson and Johnson company) applied every night for 7 nights and a face liquid soap from la roche company why i posted in previous posts.
What didnt work for me was free sls shampoo , conditioners (i guess cause the fungus is lipofilic) , anti-dandruff shampoos , cutting off sugar (no major effect on my sd ) , different hydrating cremes (which actually might feed the fungus).
I also tried multi vitamins which contained viotin and folic acid (which are said to be good for SD) and that helped me reach 17 days clear of SD!! I usually have and SD breakout every 14 days, then i apply the cream and in 1-2 nights it goes away.I have in mind testing only viotin supplement as i have heard success stories with it.
Finally i'm very happy to say that i tested gluten free diet and i didn't have an SD breakout for 28 days !!!! After that i got sick, i had the flu and had an SD breakout!
What a coincidence my friends !!! I remember geting my SD worse 2 other times , when i donated blood and when i had the flu again before some months!! Which obviously means that when you're not well on the inside you will not look ok on the outside too .
Anyway , while i tested this very difficult diet (glutten free) i also tried to fix my scalp SD condition so after the shampoo i used ACV therapy for around 8-10' but at first i didnt see any good results cause ACV was pasteurized so i bought another ACV "with the mother" which means unpasteurized and unfiltered and used it every other day for a week, then my scalp SD had almost cured !! Great results my friends it really works!! I will now use it around 2-3 times per week.
So these are my findings ,
be strong be happy
Posted 15 December 2014 - 11:56 PM
I also started using suave clarifying shampoo on my scalp and on my body too,I noticed that sls free shampoos still make my scalp itch, and that most soaps, leave a film on my body, plus bumps and dry skin.
I haven't been using the suave for long, so I can't say if I will stick to it.
I had to stop the jojoba oil , because it acts like an oil on my skin, even when its not an oil.
I have been avoiding sugar,I don't know if that has made a difference, the only thing I have noticed is that, I'm not that itchy.
I have noticed that my body is having a hard time healing my existing pimples, but I think it's because I haven't had any sleep, my husband got sick with a really bad cold, ended up in the ER. His allergies get too complicated, like asthma attacks, so I have to keep an eye on him, and I haven't had time to sleep or take care of myself.

So far,I have been finding out what works or doesn't for my skin.
Lately I think that my face doesn't like salicylic acid all over my face.
I kind of found out that the vicks vaporub will take a cyst out, probably piece by piece, especially the ones with multiple heads.
So far I haven't had new breakouts, I'm still dealing with the big cyst, my fault for squeezing it, and also that I haven't been able to apply a thick layer of Vicks at night.
So,I went and got extra strength gold bond powder, the green bottle, since I still think that I'm dealing with some fungus here, so I just applied some thick paste to the cyst once during the day and once that night, and next day the dry skin come out and also a lot of bleeding, it seems that it was still infected, and it looked like it still had a plug , that is today.
I still had some peeling, from old breakouts and applied some gold bond powder and that powder really gets rid of dry skin.
My conclusion I can only use the gold bond powder of I want to finish drying an old pimple or scar, it works really fast , the skin has to be very dry before applying.
All I can say its that , the cyst it's shrinking, I'm happy with the results I'm getting.
I can apply make-up on it now.
I'm still using the same
Neutrogena clear pore, cleanser mask
The acne.org benzoyl treatment, dang! I can't live without this. I don't even need moisturizer on top of it.My face loves, hates oil.
It loves it because if I use moisturizer for awhile, then my skin feels good and soft and then after that my face hates it and starts getting oily.
So far my face it's getting , better.
