I took a sauna today and it felt pretty good. I've heard they can be good for your skin, but I've also heard they can be bad. In my experience I have found that it doesn't seem to make much of a diference either way, but I like it because it is relaxing. For those of you who do them, do wash your face right after with just water or do you use a soap or cleanser?

I allway's get a outbreak after a sauna (like in 10 minutes, really fast) but I don't care cause sauna's RULE!

gloged pores can't get sweat out, they are sealed tight because your body beleves bacteria are inside. no sweat will come out, building up under the skin.

Sweating is a good way of cleaning out your skin...but I like to follow it with a cold shower! That way, it tightens up your pores right after. user posted image

Cold showers are so difficult to stand though! I always have to count down the seconds...

Ya tell me about it. It's GREAT for super hot days, but it's rather cold now.

You should do hot/cold showers. hot to cold, to hot, to cold...feels invigorating in the morning.

We don't really get super hot days in England, but on the rare occasions we do, we spend all day outside, (it's an unspoken tradition...kind of)... there's no time for cold showers!! biggrin.gif

Finnish people live in the sauna. I don't care what it did to my body, I'm not gonna stop using it.

Cold shower and then to the sauna and your blood really starts to circulate. Or if you have the chance, go swimming (especially in the winter) or roll around in the snow. That's a really good way to relieve stress.

I've rolled in snow after being in a hot tub. It was so great. Hot tub, hot, snow, cold. Shocks the system. Makes for fun. My skin felt great afterward. I was glowing.

I once read in an Archie comic that, that was a good way to get rid of a cold Monkey! First, steam yourself nice and hot, then jump into a cold pool!

Does anybody else read Archie comicbooks?? :eh: smile.gif (Now you can see how I named my dog!)

Don't post your dog's pic again! It made me weak for days.

I read Archie comics when I was a kid at summer camp.

Ya! When I was young, I would leave Archie comics in all of my bathrooms. Funny how I would spend so much time in there.

Sorry Monkeygirl...I added him to my pic collection in my gallery! :shifty: Go check him out! I'm sure he misses you... He loved those comments you made about him the first time you saw him.

Haven't been to the gallery yet.

I always felt bad for them, they were such idiots. Those crazy situations. What a bunch of morons. Every time.
