This is really my problem. Shiny, oily and reddish skin. I also have dark marks on my face left by acne.
Firstly, let me tell you how I treat my acne. I used a cleanser with tea tree oil beads and then put on a Benzac 5% BP. Before, I put on a moisturizer but then it clogged my skin. Whiteheads starts to pop-up. And so I decided not to put on a moisturizer after putting BP. Because, anyway, my skin is very oily. Also, when I'm exposed to the sun, I get a flaming red face with a burning feeling.
I don't want to stop using BP since it shows good results. My acne is starting to disapper.
Another problem I have is that there are dark marks left by acne.
Please can anyone help me get rid of the oil on my face and dark marks? I tried to put on Maybelline Clear Smooth face powder (just a little of it, it's non-comedogenic according to the box), so that my face would look fresh and less oily. But usually, if I leave it on my face for a long time, new pimples will start to appear the next day.
Please help me with this problem.
Thanks

You are not alone, BP also made my face extremely shiny and oily/red dry and irritated skin, developed dry spots, and was extremely pale white from the BP's bleaching effect on my skin.

well if BP is causing these symptoms simply just stop and tend to your face's needs, if you feel dry, use moisturizer, and use it until you dont feel it anymore. listen to your face basically is what i do... many people fail their skin needs because they think if they do something long enough the symptoms will go away which is NEVER the case, it probably just gets worse.
by the way, i can post pictures here of my exteme oilyness/redness problem from using to much BP and compare it to now, when i dropped the BP my oilyness and redness went away really fast... also the dry patches are long gone. But however i still get dry even though i use super rich creamy moisturizer (its from tap water, ill be installing a R/O home system soon).

BP is great for acnes. But I stopped using mainly because of the marks and oily aftermath.
For me I use products that is salicylic acid based. It doesnt "oil" that much. Along with vitamin C serum to clear the dark spots fast.
When I go out I apply Dr Brandt's "pores no more" pore refiner and mattifier. it controls my oily face very well throughout the day and also gives a dewy look.

Try Tea Tree Oil.
