Yeah, I would like to discuss this with you guys. I usually wash my face with cleanser twice a day but Ive read its better to splash water one time and use cleanser the other time. Is there research in regards to this? What do you guys think?

I have very oily skin, with all over clogged pores and some whiteheads. Some red marks and a few shallow scars on both cheeks.

i wash my face twice a day usin DK cleanser.i have light acne (after two accutane rounds) and washing twice a day is definitely better than once for me.i can see slight improvement since i strted to wash my face two times instead of once.but i think that this is really individual ;)

I don't use cleansers.

I moisturise heavily then rinse with cold water.

I've even ditched cleansers when showering in the morning, same story just moisturise heavily and rinse with shower water.

Again just an individual regime.

Same here, i moisturize heavily at night, then in the morning or late afternoon i take a shower only splashing face with water a couple times. Im beginning to look into P.H. and skin health, if you do use a cleanser or something make sure its ph is 5.5 ... water alone is PH 7.0 which isint good for the skin it takes a few hours for the skins PH level to normalize after this.

If you know water alone isnt good for your skin, why are you continuing this?

I used to always wash twice a day with a cleanser. Lately I've been trying it only at night with a simple water-only wash in the morning, followed by SPF facial moisturizer. I don't know. I'm trying to decide if whether or not it gets all the gunk (BP and moisturizer) off as efficiently as need be. I'm assuming water gets it all off just fine with no cleanser needed. If I decide to apply BP in the morning though, I'll use my cleanser beforehand to prep the skin.

You're looking into that stuff way too much. You gonna have a panic attack if you're outside and it starts to rain, but you have no umbrella?

j/k

twice a day with purpose cleanser. I have really oily skin (blot every hour when out :|) so just a splash of water would make me feel grimy.

Once in the evening (about 7pm) In the mornings I wipe over with a gentle toner on cotton wool pads, if I cleanse twice a day I get really dry skin.

You need to wash with water to desquamate your face, take off some of the bacteria and oil/dead cells of your face to prevent buildup.

Id say every other day use a cleaning agent like soap or a ph balanced cleanser (ph 5.5-7.0) and moisturize every night you should be good.. not worry about acne.

1) never use acne drugs (oral or topical)

2) invest in a R/O home filter

3) use moisturizer especially if you only use city water (i like Triceram for redness, really dry skin)

4) KEEP IT SIMPLE

That stuff is absolutely HORRID!!! Be careful, this contains Sodium Myreth Sulfate, just as nasty as SLS! I tried this same bar last summer, and suffered the consequences. BTW Priestess, the Purpose Bar broke me out as well (a HUGE cyst on my forehead)! As of this past Saturday, found another bar at Whole Foods, Desert Essence Cleansing Bar Tea Tree Therapy. I'm totally running out of options here!

You can use emollient cream as a cleanser, which would be great for people who need to wash more often, but get dry skin if they do.
