Had some girlscout cookies that were bought last night. Three samoas, one sugar-free chocolate chip, and one peanut butter creme. A Kroger-branded mini-pizza with bacon, sausage and pepperoni. And three bottles of water. Will probably have some new Hamburger Helper for supper. Current complexion: Similar to the Kroger-branded mini-pizza minus the sausage and bacon. lol.gif

Damn you! I'm so jealous! I ordered two boxes of Samoas at the end of January and they're still not here. I'm beginning to think that I was ripped off by a Girl Scout!

Hehe. It's been a while since I had some Samoas. Once I saw them there was no turning back. Things are absolutely delicious. lol.gif

They're the only kind of Girl Scout cookies I like, so my boyfriend ordered two boxes for me while I was at work one day. He told me that the girl said they'd come in around the eighth, but I haven't seen hide nor hair of either the girl or the cookies, so I'm hoping that he just misheard her and she actually said 'eighteenth' or 'twentyeighth'.

(Sigh.) I'm missing out on delicious chocolate-caramel-coconutty goodness...

Yesterday, I bought nearly 3 pounds of salmon which was previously frozen and near it's sell-by date so was reduced in price. So, it had to be cooked and eaten promptly. So I poached the whole thing and plan to eat it for most meals until it's gone. If there was ever time to do the Perricone 3-day facelift diet, this is it.

Last night I had a large piece and some sautéed greens.
Today for lunch I made a sandwich with it on a toasted wheat kaiser roll with most of the inside scooped out. Which I had with mustard, onions, and some romaine. Munched on some red bell peppers and carrot sticks.

Tonight I will heat up another large piece and have with steamed broccoli.
Baked banana with a few bittersweet chocolate chips inside.

Also, this can't be stated enough:

Everyone should be aware that not everything posted here are good choices and some may be fine for some people but not be for you and your personal food intolerances or health issues.

In general, you want to eat nutrient dense foods that are as whole and unprocessed as possible so mostly vegetables, fruit, fish, chicken, eggs, etc. Keep dairy and processed grains like things made out of wheat flour to a minimum though some people will need to avoid those things completely. Or you may need to avoid completely some other food. This is something you have to figure out for yourself by trial.

And you want to eat those foods in moderate to low Glycemic load meals. This means combining high GI foods with low GI foods, keeping the high GI foods to a minimum and not binge eating. This applies to drinks and snacks as well. All meals. But nutrients, sleep, muscle mass and physical activity all affect how well your body manages blood sugar. Those things can affect how strict your diet needs to be.

OMG... alternavista, I will be purchasing some salmon ASAP... i'm daydreaming about baking the skin ahhh =) I was munching on carrots and bell peppers today as well.

I have become such a foodie. I mean, I know we 'have' to eat 'healthy' for our skin, but I just finally feel so satisfied with my diet. Everything is friggin delicious.

To eat today:

egg, stevia, salt, ghee..beavertail egg

roasted red pepper omellete with hotsauce and ghee

carrots and PB, cream and strawberries

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...is it bad that I am turned on by this? no? no!

Also, I baked the most killer banana bread today for the fam. My dad gets pissed if he buys bananas and no one eats them. I really kicked ass. My sister who is moody actually moaned after having a sliuce after work. She put a layer of butter on it...THICK, with brown sugar on top and from the other room I hear a hearty and sincere 'ugh that was sooo good'. !!!

Since finishing my salmon, I've had:

Veggie stir fry over quinoa for 2 meals. I always cook for at least 2 meals, and usually enough to put some in freezer for another meal next week, to help keep variety when I've bought different foods that need to get eaten up.

Stir fry consisted of Garlic, ginger, onions, cabbage and broccoli, because that's what I had, with a little soy sauce and and soy aminos.

Broiled tilapia and tomatoes, with steamed broccoli.

2 Green smoothies of romaine and kiwi with a teaspoon of chia.

Romaine and apple salad with sprinkling of pomegranate, sunflower seeds and some other nuts.

Desserts of baked banana with a few bittersweet dark chocolate chips or broiled nectarines with chinese 5 spice powder and a little yogurt.

Breakfast is baked oatmeal and apples or steamed sweet potatoes with cinnamon. Or banana and berries topped with yogurt and granola like mix heavy on the nuts and seeds.

Snacks of red bell peppers and carrots. Steamed sweat potato with olive oil and spice blend with a lot of cayenne. Like what the sprinkle on 'seasoned fries.' I prefer it with thin baked slices, but it's warm right now and I don't use the oven when it's warm.
