well i've once read here that masturbation causes more tes' to become into DHT which will cause more acne, and today i've read thatt eating SOYA will make the body preduce "equol" (enzyme or something like that) which will stop the effect of the DHT.

i think i'll give the soye a try smile.gif

Not everyone can convert soy into equol. Only 35% of people can, kinda like some are lactose intolerant and some aren't. However, you can take certain supplements to increase youre bodies equol.

As for the masterbation, its only a temp increase, real temp.

DHT is one of the strongest androgen in the human body. DHT is formed from Testosterone. Test gets converted through 5AR which is an enzyme that makes Test into DHT. There are two types of DHT, type I and II. More of Type I are located in the sebum gland, thus the idea that DHT plays a role in sebum production. However, a new stuy came out and they used a dual 5ar inhibitor (for both type I and II as they have used type II inhibitor before by itself and it showed no sign of decreasing sebum) and this too showed no sign of decreasing sebum! So, maybe theres more to decreasing sebum than just reducing DHT. DHT also can cause prostate cancer and hairloss. Now youre probably thinking whats the point of even having DHT, well I cannot answer that cause I havnt looked into to it. I know it does aid in growth/development, such as facial hair body hair, sex organs, etc. To what extent I am not familiar with. There are DHT inhibitors out there, but as for the effect/control on acne little to none.

You might want to read this on Green Tea and DHT. Pretty useful, and why im drinking Green Tea as part of my acne program:
http://www.acne-rx-s...-green-tea.html

"l. Green tea catechins block the type 1 form of 5 alpha reductase enzyme. The type 1 isozyme is found mostly in sebaceous glands of acne prone areas of the face. Since this enzyme is responsible for converting testosterone to the more potent dihydro-testosterone, lower levels of circulating androgens may prove helpful in acne.
