I do know for myself personally, Shea butter is only good for me on my body. I would never use it on my face or areas that you have acne. It's full of fatty acids and oils that help for an intensive moisturizer, and it is great for evening out skin tone, stretch marks, and scars. But like I said, I would never use it on my face.
As for evening skin tone on your face try Mary Kay TimeWise Even Complexion Essence, my friend swears by it and it doesn't irritate her skin. But I know there are a ton of products out there that do the same thing.
As it seems, everyone is different and skin response is different for everyone. Maybe it will help.

I don't recommend it for facial use. As Kysa mentioned, it's quite oily and thick. I don't think that would be condusive for acne prone skin. It's good on the body and ends of hair though. As for the smell, I've never smelled pure shea butter. I've only smelled shea that has been mixed with other oils and it didn't smell bad, but perhaps the pure form is different.

Does for some, not for all. Depends on how sensitive your skin it.

It has not clogged my pores, I've been using it for three days and only see improvement. It is Non comedogenic which means it does not clog pores, I did a little research and I agree it doesn't. It is quite thick though and feels heavy on my face. So I've been using it mostly at night and during the day when I don't have to go out. I am using 100% pure and it does have a funny smell but doesn't seem to last long once its on the face. On this site there are reviews for the Shea butter and use for acne. Most of them are positive. Check it out!

Shea butter in the unrefined virgin form (which means zero chemicals and most nutrients) smells pretty funky and is very thick. It can b off white or yellow. Thy what it sounds like u have. It does melt quickly. It wont clog ur pores. It's extremely great for dark spots! It'd prib the best thing u could have bought for yourself. Just do some research u will see. Aporter9 is right. People think it clogs pores because it seems to be so greasy. If u r worried try it on ur neck or jaw first and see
