This actually works!!! Just had a massive acne breakout on my face with new spots forming everyday. I heard that turmeric was very good for treating acne and acne scars so I started drinking it and applying to my face 6 days ago. I can tell you since I've started this regime I've had no new spots and miraculously all my scars are fading....I mean fading real fast! smile.gif

The theory is that drinking the turmeric helps fight the cause of acne from the inside and so preventing its formation. Application of it to the skin helps the healing process. Give it a try!!!

Cool! Sorry if I sound silly, but you're using the powder processed for skin on your skin and the powder processed for consumption to drink right?

Could you share specific directions on how you applied on your skin and also how you drank it? Sorry, I'm totally new to this! ninja.gif

Hi zhenz. Basically what I do is, every night I mix one flat teaspoon of turmeric powder into a half glass of water, stirr it well and drink. Make sure you take it on an empty stomach.

For the face I create a paste by mixing some powder turmeric with plain yoghurt. About half teaspoon of turmeric + 1 teaspoon of yoghurt should be enough to cover the face. I rub this onto my skin every night and leave it on till next morning. A word of warning: if doing this make sure you use old bed sheets as it will permanently stain them! Trust me I learnt the hard way! eusa_wall.gif

To wash it off the following day I use water first, and then rub some plain yoghurt onto the skin. Apparently yoghurt or milk is very good for removing the yellow turmeric stains. I like to use a face wash after because the yoghurt really smells wacko.gif

Hope this helps!

Is this causing micro swelling perhaps, that's why some people see such good results? I believe that maybe it's the same with Apple Cider Vinager (that some people reported removed rolling scars), a swelling would make it look like it really removed the scars..

I started reading about Turmeric on some other pages, seems like its supposed to heal new scars (just like Aloe Vera).

I'm doing this at night (turmeric and a litte lemon/water) + a water/apple cider vinager solution everyday in the morning now. I'll report back in a couple of weeks, or when i think i see results..

Apple Cider Vinager it a acid not natural and it won't help scar or hyperpigmentation, as i say it a long post about Apple Cider Vinager but some people even got burn from it and does not help they red mark but some do. Turmeric it a natural stuff because it grow in a root and make it out as powder it way cheap then Apple Cider Vinager and it help to fade scar or other skin problem Apple Cider Vinager can't do that. Apple Cider Vinager also got stink smell then Turmeric i not again the person that post Apple Cider Vinager but i just don't think it good to put a acid to your face then put natural stuff and it stink.

I've used turmeric before. It is really good for spots. I have never tried using it with just water tho, a very common Indian remedy is mixing turmeric with yogurt and plain flour ( i mix it without the plain flour) It is said to cool down the skin and turmeric is found to have skin lightening properties as well (can help with red marks)
If you want to drink turmeric then add it with milk, mush nicer than with water.

I have used it as a spot treatment as well, just putting a little on some spots before i went to sleep. Calms them down a lot.

Good luck with it.

I found the discussion about 'turmeric' tonight and decided to try it. I just mixed some turmeric powder with a little water and applied it all over my face for about 20 mins. I rinsed it off and my face looked a light yellow colour! I was a bit worried but it came off with some foaming cleanser.

Well, i have to say it's made my skin feel really nice and feels calmer than before! I will do this every night from now on! Thanks for sharing the secret of turmeric! I now have hope that i can cure my acne and scars naturally and cheaply!

battwoman04 u can leave it overnight to get the result much faster because it not a acid so it will not burn u but it only stain your mark to yellow but u can wash it of use baby wipe towel or use cleaning soap or bakeing soda work best and result much faster if u use both turmeric and bakeing soda!

Ok thanks for that! I must admit i am a bit worried about staining everything yellow - but i will give it a go then. So does this mean i should stop using the benzol peroxide at night? Is turmeric going to do the same thing as BP??

Turmeric cure also acne so u don't need use other product but u can use if u want on the morning since u can't put turmeric on the morning because it will not look good when u go out. So u can only put it at night then on the morning wash it with bakeing soda and use your stuff only in the morning everything else let turmeric help u at night and healing.

Yeah its used in Asia a lot. They put it on brides before the wedding and stuff. And its used on cuts etc. since its an antiseptic.

Hi dear, have you used it yourself too? How effective is it? =)

I have not used it to treat acne or anything but its supposed to be effective. Makes you yellow tho.

& if you have a bad cough drink a bit of turmeric mixed in hot milk (make sure it hits your throat). The cough will be gone instantly biggrin.gif

HELP!!!!

i just applied my turmeric powder (mixed with a bit of water) on my face, and when i tried to wash my hands, my fingers, which had touched and also applied the powder on my face, were still stained! i washed with normal hand soap as well as my facial cleanser.

so i quickly washed my face (about 5 mins after applying) with cleanser twice and my face still has a tinge of yellow! my fingers which had now been washed with soap/cleanser at least 4 times has also a slight yellow tinge. in fact, the other fingers which were totally clean before (no contact with the powder) is now also slightly yellowish due to using them to wash my face.

i read that someone used milk, i have no milk in my house and its 2am so i can't get it nearby.

pls pls help!!!!!

Hmm, do you have yogurt? Like someone mentioned they used milk or yogurt to get it off. Some other person mentioned that using oil like Jojoba or Emu will assist in getting the staining off your face. Also someone used daily peeling pads and scrub, I think, to get the staining off. I haven't tried the mask myself yet, so I can't say if these methods will help but this is what people that have tried it said. Hope it helps.

Edit: The OP says to use baking soda or washcloth. Maybe try that too.

Sorry i have to post 2nd post here because it also fade your scar from acne or red mark that left behind!!!

I have been going to alot pain about acne then scar from the past, I have spend all kind stuff try get rid of acne and scar chemica peel, skin lighting, skin bleaching, acne cream u name it. It cost me alot money not only it not helping but it geting worse Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation and more acne. Here why chemical peel it not safe and it not going work if u leave it to long it will burn your skin and get more Hyperpigmentation tca, lactic, glycolic, jessen, U have to stay in door for a month and wear sunscreen and u have to repeat treatment to see the result. Skin bleaching u have to use it 3 month to see result but without 1 day sunscreen that 3 month it useless. Acne cream makeing your acne worse because it will dry your skin out more it got bad chemical in it and it will cost u more acne. Stop going to the sun and get a tan that make your red mark even more Hyperpigmentation pop of waiting until it heal. Do not try peel at home Why because u don't know how your skin feel if even leave for extra minute it burn u will get more Hyperpigmentation and make it more worse.

Here a cure for all acne people suffer from red mark, scar,Hyperpigmentation.
Turmeric powder or the root from it. It only cost u a few dollar to buy at a asian market With a few dollar will last u a month and help u fade all kind acne, acne scar, red mark,Hyperpigmentation on your face in a month u will see life agian, and u don't have to waste thousand dollar or go to the pain of that nasty peel, skin bleaching or use harsh chemical that don't work. I know how it feel to i have past all those pain, it hurt so bad each day but once day u will see that it only the past and don't look back.

Why american people does not know Turmeric because Turmeric it only in asia. This stuff it cure people with acne, acne scar, Hyperpigmentation within a month in asia or other country no matter how bad your acne or scar or stunborn red mark or Hyperpigmentation it will cure or make it fade in a month. Turmeric It a natural root or powder that u can only buy in asian market by put into the skin will turn to yellow stain but that just a color it will fade if u use baby towel wipe or washing it of. It like a magic waste a few dollar then waste hunder dollar on harsh chemical that make it don't work and make it more worse.

I am here for just help and tell my story. MY english it bad i just come to american 1 year. Pm me if u want know more information. I know alot asian here know Turmeric but no one have post here to help.

While many of us are aware of the numerous benefits of this deep, exotic yellow spice, few incorporate turmeric in our daily use, other than sprinkling a little of it in our daal and subzi. Turmeric, a member of the ginger family, has been used for healing by Ayurvedic means, since time immemorial. Turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties, and is an excellent antiseptic. In addition, it is great for the skin. So before investing in an expensive beauty product, take a look in your kitchen.

The turmeric you get in packets is not the pure form, which is why it is best that you try and find someone who supplies pure turmeric powder, or use the root and make your own paste.

Here are just a few of the various benefits of turmeric:

Reduces Pigmentation

Plagued with pigmentation? Turmeric can help even out your skin tone and colour. Simply apply a little turmeric mixed with cucumber juice or lemon to the affected area. Leave on for fifteen minutes or more, and wash off. Do this everyday, and gradually you will notice your skin colour returning to normal.

Strengthens Bones

Drink a quarter glass turmeric juice every night, with milk. The best way to have this is to take a ½ inch piece of turmeric and boil it with half a glass of milk. Once the milk has turned yellow, remove from fire, let it cool slightly, and sip this. This will cure numerous ailments. Women especially should drink this every night, as it strengthens bones and reduces the risk of developing osteoporosis.

Softens the Body

Turmeric is a wonderful body scrub, which is why Indian brides apply a turmeric and gram flour (besan) mix to their entire body, the morning of the wedding. It leaves your skin soft, smooth and glowing. Of course, a single application will not really make that much of a difference. Do this regularly, and watch your skin change for the better - much better.

Makes the Skin Supple

If you are planning a pregnancy, apply a mixture of turmeric and malai or turmeric and curd to your stomach and waist before going for a bath. Leave it on for fifteen minutes, and wash off. If desired, you could even apply this mixture after bathing. After you have washed off the soap, apply the malai and haldi mixture, leave it on for five minutes, and wash off only with water. Gently, wipe your stomach with the towel. The sooner you start this routine, the more supple and elastic your skin will become, and after giving birth, you will not be left with unsightly stretch marks.

Inhibits Cell Damage

Turmeric is an excellent anti-oxidant, which essentially means that it stabilizes unstable oxygen molecules. These are known as free radicals, and are what cause damage to cells, leading to ageing and various other diseases such as cancer.

Fights Diarrhoea

Turmeric fights the bacteria that causes diarrhoea, so the next time your stomach starts 'running', reach for some haldi. German health authorities have officially declared turmeric herbal tea to be a cure for loose stools.

Here are 20 reasons to add turmeric to your diet:

1. It is a natural antiseptic and antibacterial agent, useful in disinfecting cuts and burns.

2. When combined with cauliflower, it has shown to prevent prostate cancer and stop the growth of existing prostate cancer.

3. Prevented breast cancer from spreading to the lungs in mice.

4. May prevent melanoma and cause existing melanoma cells to commit suicide.

5. Reduces the risk of childhood leukemia.

6. Is a natural liver detoxifier.

7. May prevent and slow the progression of Alzheimer's disease by removing amyloyd plaque buildup in the brain.

8. May prevent metastases from occurring in many different forms of cancer.

9. It is a potent natural anti-inflammatory that works as well as many anti-inflammatory drugs but without the side effects.

10. Has shown promise in slowing the progression of multiple sclerosis in mice.

11. Is a natural painkiller and cox-2 inhibitor.

12. May aid in fat metabolism and help in weight management.

13. Has long been used in Chinese medicine as a treatment for depression.

14. Because of its anti-inflammatory properties, it is a natural treatment for arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

15. Boosts the effects of chemo drug paclitaxel and reduces its side effects.

16. Promising studies are underway on the effects of turmeric on pancreatic cancer.

17. Studies are ongoing in the positive effects of turmeric on multiple myeloma.

18. Has been shown to stop the growth of new blood vessels in tumors.

19. Speeds up wound healing and assists in remodeling of damaged skin.

20. May help in the treatment of psoriasis and other inflammatory skin conditions.

All around the world you can now avail of turmeric in the form of teas, capsules, tinctures, lotions, ointments and powder. However, here, you have access to turmeric in its purest form, so make the most use of it.

wow.....this is one i never heard of before.....i bought the powder form in an indian market, and im putting it on my face tonight.....tomorrow, im going to search for the root form also.....

i am a girl who has done EVERYTHING.....i have had MULTIPLE dermabrasions, co2 laser resurfacings, pulse dye laser sessions, radio waves, 11 fraxels, prescription hydroquinone creams, aspirin masks, AHA products, glycolic products etc. etc. etc....all for red marks that ive had for 10 YEARS......(so those of u that think time fades red marks, forget it)

im hoping this will do something....ANY BENEFICIAL EFFECT AT ALL WOULD MAKE ME GET DOWN ON MY KNEES AND RENEW MY FUKIN FAITH IN LIFE...

Hey everyone,

Bicarbonate of soda mixed into a paste with a little water gets the stain out! And then just wash with your normal foaming cleanser. If you use a flat ended cosmetic cotton bud to apply turmeric paste to your face you will not stain your hands! whistling.gif0
