I had this checked out with a derm, but she didnt really seem to want to check it out much (one of those in/out derm ppl) and just pushed for roaccutane (which im thinking about).
I have read up on Pityrosporum Folliculitis. It seems the same but im not sure.
Mine, as u can see in the pictures, are not really inflamed atm (maybe one if anything, but when it does, it sometimes comes to a head). Under light, I can see the black folicals of my hair (as if they were ingrown). Some of them have sitting there for over 4-5 years. Some of them eventually come up. When they do, its like a little strand of hair is rolled up in the puss.
Also, I have a big cyst on my face.
I heard im supposed to use Head & Shoulders if it is PF?

Doesn't look like any sort of acne I've ever had. Those could be ingrown hairs, in which case, you might have to dig for it (not that I advise it at all...I had this sore on my pubic region for about 6 months, only to find out there was a hair growing deep down in there and swirling around itself. I had to dig with tweezers for twenty minutes before I got the damn thing out, and now there's a tiny little scar to show for it.) If it's PF, it shouldn't be difficult to get rid of. Unlike acne.

Well, what can I say. After six months of wondering when this annoying little sore is gonna go away, thinking maybe you have some sort of STD (though you've never had sex), one grows tired of waiting and decides needlepoint tweezers are the way to go. And voila, it came out.
Actually, looking at it now, it looks like the scar is basically gone, too.

I have this exact same problem! I came here because my cystic acne is finally clearing, but I still have these same colorless hard bumps on my upper stomach...never above the chest and never below the ribcage! They are all the same size except once in a while one will become 'inflamed' and be bigger than any acne cyst I ever had. They don't hurt, but theyre impossible to pop, LITERALLY. I'd have to take a knife to my skin to dig out whatever is down there.
I'm about ready to go see a derm, since I can't find anything remotely similar to this online. I'll let you know if i find anything!

Ingrown hairs. End of story. Exfoliate your chest and maybe throw some AHA lotion on there or something. I wouldn't be able to resist digging em out though. The longer they're there, they more the hair is going to grow and curl, and the more it will get infected.
