You can regain it now if you stop waiting Rudy. LOL

If you have pitted scarring look into Subcision-Suction as well as microneeding. Check out my success

rebecca black is researching dextran hydrogel guys

LOL I don't think this is getting through any of your skulls. Even if someone is "researching dextran hydrogel" that means next to nothing. Unlike Seabs I'm not a naive scientific idealist or realist. I'm a pragmatist my friends. Look up the difference these are real positions within the philosophy of science. He's a naive realist. I'm a pragmatist. I want results and I measure results by my own empirical observation. So follow my protocol!!!

All you whiny whiny babies who are talking about this hydrogel and that lab and this researcher. Do you really want to have some improvement in your scars? I don't think any of you REALLY want improvement because then you'd have no more excuses for why your lives were so shitty. You can always hide behind "my scars my scars! oh woe is me!!!"

If you want improvement then here's the way. You wanna minimize your scars? Maybe you'll even do much better than 30 percent, I was being conservative. But for the LOVE OF GOD will someone take some bloody action around here? Don't whine about the money, go out and make some!!! 20 grand is nothing in the grand scheme of life, in the grand scheme of your dreams!

So go ahead, and show us what you got! But for the love of god, can we shut down this hyrdrogel nonsense until someone shows me a human application, I don't care about this porcine and rat bullshit. They've been able to do all sorts of shit with rats they can't do with humans and pigs. And all in thse shitty little experiments to fund their lab grants. THAT'S ALL THESE SCIENTISTS CARE ABOUT!!! PRODUCING RESULTS FOR GRANTS. They're not like "Oh man I can really help Seabs and his poor acne scars by developing a great application for all these poor acne scar suffererers." NO! They're like, damn I hope I get this grant so I can have this cushy lab job for another five years and puddle around with this crap producing nothing!!!!

SO EITHER FOLLOW ME! OR FUCK YOURSELF!

Why do you care so much about what we want to do with our time and this board? If you want to get improvement (subjective or otherwise) with things like lasers, ReCell and whatever else, more power to you. No one is stopping you. However, imagine if we all blasted you in responses for even bringing up those treatments. That's what you do every time you pass judgement on the rest of us being interested in the hydrogel. You have to see the hypocrisy in your posts.

I think improvements aren't what most of us on this board want. We desire complete regeneration. Is the hydrogel going to end up as that treatment? None of us can say for certain but we know that the treatments you listed have no chance of giving us the results we desire and the dextran hydrogel has shown promise to that end.

If you or anyone else wants to post about alternatives go for it. Again, no one else on the board is ridiculing or blasting the very mention of lasers on this board. Some, myself included, have pointed out that their results are highly subjective but if it makes someone feel better then he or she should absolutely do it.

I do find it odd that on one hand you decry the hydrogel and claim that the scientists are just in it for the grant money and then turn around and champion alternative treatments that started out the same way; with a scientist researching a way to improve wound healing. Plus, Gemstone isn't in it for the grants, they're in it to turn the dextran hydrogel into a product and make money. If it was only Gerecht's lab working on the hydrogel in a university setting, I'd be less interested but that's not the case.

Keep posting whatever treatments you want, but ditch the personal attacks on everyone that is interested in the hydrogel. In the end, our enthusiasm shouldn't affect your life in the least.

They really made a significant difference in my case.

Anyway, so there's no real way for us to find out what was said at that seminar?

It's interesting. Their college of Biomedical Engineering actually has an archive with all their seminars dating back to 2007. Alas, I can't find that for the department of Chemical and Biological Engineering. We could use this email to try to get some info:

che@che.wisc.edu

Also, bad news, due to inclement weather Gerecht's talk was canceled. :(

what specific laser treatment did you have ie. what laser? what setting? how many times? would be valuable for us.

I have a thread detailing all of that. It's pretty ancient (2008?) but you should be able to find it by clicking on my profile and searching through the threads I started.

I just saw that the "topic" section on my profile only goes back so far. But it's called "How Vbeam changed the appearance of my scar". Vbeam significantly made a difference for me in the sense that what improvement there was helped me get over things mentally for as much as I could. It wasn't a miraculous treatment which made this enormous difference, physically. It basically just took the redness out and smoothed out the texture a tad. But that helped me a bunch.

well that's hardly encouraging. but vbeam isn't really the most advanced laser.

guys i'm just depressed now and astounded how far we are in so many areas of technology and yet we have nothing. there must be something out there!?

Excision. The only treatment guaranteed to permanently remove acne scars.

What about nanoparticles?

http://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2015-03/aeco-nnt032615.php

Quote:

The nanoparticles with their siRNA cargoes were then tested by topically applying them to mice with either skin excisions or burns. In both cases, the wounds closed more than twice as fast as in untreated controls. "Not only did the cells move into the wounds faster, but they knew what to do when they got there," said Dr. Sharp. "We saw normal, well-orchestrated regeneration of tissue, including hair follicles and the skin's supportive collagen network."

They are moving to pig trials soon too:

"Dr. Sharp plans to start testing the therapy on pigs, whose skin closely resembles that of humans, within months."
