Scarless Healing

I am sorry for not replying to the messages in FB, I have been on vacation and had to deal with a small tropical storm last week. Here are a few quick comments:

1- The reason that the original admin of the FB page has been inactive is due to being busy with real life. AFAIK, no new contact with the investor (George Davis) has been attempted (knowing that this is a long process, I have not tried to do so yet). I try to keep up the pace and have successfully contacted some people within JHU, but they don't spill the beans easily.

2- Gemstone rarely updates their Facebook or Twitter pages, and contacting them there is somewhat difficult. However, they are certainly active and money is not an issue. On a side note, they are sponsoring the Association for the Advancement of Wound Care.

3- Gemstones' telephone line is automated and asks for specific answers (extension numbers, et al.) that few of you would have.

4- I was told around a month ago that the staff of Gerecht Lab's was likely going to be on vacation until the last week of August. It was not a source within the Lab, but an employee of the Whiting Engineering School that told me so.

5- Penn U's vet school is expected to conduct post-trials after the original JHU trials.

6- As golfpanther mentioned, do not expect random details to be leaked before the studies are published in a peer reviewed source. This is no longer just "research", it is business.

7- I was directly told that contacting Dr. Gerecht was going to be extremely hard, since she basically oversees a multitude of people and is directly involved in most of the research.

8- I have not tried contacting Dr. Harmon.

9- Apparently, there is a fierce competition between several Labs to have their work published in one of the two WSE magazine issues.

scarsgone2017: If a Dermatologist ever said that to me, I would never go back there again.

They'd also be getting a '0's across-the-board rating' on RateMyMD.

Well let's put it this way, search up "third degree burns" on Google, then tell me if you think simply washing your face regularly would help in a situation such as theirs.

You're very welcome. Please don't go back to that dermatologist.
I remember 5 years back, a Dermatologist once said my scars were going too go way within a few months, which to my knowledge was simply bullshit.

I don't know why many Dermatologists and Plastic Surgeons say things that are far-fetched and uneducated... It could be that they're not as knowledgeable as we may think. One thing is for sure though, they do want your money.

Traditional exfoliation can only remove part of the stratum corneum (the outermost layer of the skin) and third-degree burns go very deep. Maybe she mistaked it for a first-degree burn... But what kind of MD could make that mistake?

Maybe we could reduce the "i hope someone will find a cure" and "do you think a cure will be found" posts. It wont change anything and it makes the really relevant information harder to find. No one knows if it will ever be possible. But i', positive, especially with the kinderspital zurich working on their own skin transplant and already testing it on human.

This is it guys, i take it from my older email folders

this is what she said to me through an email loop concerning my scars :

Dear Joni,

Based on our previous session, i concluded that your scars can be completely removed just like i said.

I had a former patient that used to be a third degree burn victim. He was desperate enough until he even considered suicide as an option

Then, i helped her by constantly using my products. Theses products requires regular cleansing and washing of her burned face

3 months later, she came back to me with newborn baby skin, flawless, shiny. I am proud of her and she thanked me many times

your case is only acne scars, which i can treat. Just go have another sessions with me, then i can show you which products of mine

i can apply to your scars

Best Regards,

Monica

what do you guys think?

Is this Dermatologist is really trustable?

seems like she is really convinving

Do you think this thread and all the million dollar research would exist if washing your face was the cure we're all looking for?

No, she is not trustable, is she even a real doctor?

LOL If this Monica is real she is one of those unscrupulous people who underestimate everyone else's intelligence and overestimate their own. LOL

She needs to see a therapist.

She's bad news, stay away from her products. You never know what she is selling, but no face wash can do what she is claiming.

This particular discovery was in the news a few months ago, but here's a new article on it:

http://www.bioopticsworld.com/articles/print/volume-7/issue-4/departments/biooptics-breakthroughs/dentistry-regenerative-medicine-low-level-light-stirs-in-vivo-stem-cells-to-regenerate-tissue.html

It's called LLLT low-level light therapy (also referred to as photobiomodulation - PBM). They were able to get dentin in teeth to regrow, and they are talking about it possibly working on the skin.

Here's the pertinent quotation:

"The research promises a broad range of clinical applications in restorative dentistry and regenerative medicine, including wound healing and bone growth. And it hints at dramatic changes for dentistry and other disciplines."

Just thought I'd share some promising news since there's no word about Dextran Hydrogel.

I'm not sure what to think. LLLT is said to stimulate TGF-β1 and there are studies suggesting that inhibiting it is desirable for skin regeneration. For example, see pages 9-10 here: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3812288/

On the other hand, if it can really affect stem cells, that may override that mechanism. There's only one way to know.

How to raise some money for conducting the gel research?

I don't think we really need to do that. Gerecht's research lab has funding from an investor and company, Gemstone Biotherapeutics. And all indications point toward them currently conducting tests and ongoing research. Unfortunately, it's not happening quite as quickly as we'd all like. Hopefully, once the summer wraps up we'll hear something.

I am thinking of making some adanced hydrogels for wound healing.

The large animal trial is undergoing.... lets just hope good news emerge from it

how could this happen if the original researchers are not working on this any more?

Maybe because Sharon Gerecht wants all the proceeds.
