I saw some posts where "mattifiying moisturizers" were mentioned. I've never heard of these before, but I'm totally interested! What are some examples of brands that are available, and where can I buy them? I hope they are available at Wal-Mart-type stores. Am really eager to hear more about this stuff! biggrin.gif/

Unfortunately mattifying moisturizer are quite hard to find and they are a bit more expensive than walmart/ kmart type moisturizer. As far as I concern, there are only 2 drugstore brands that offers something "close" to mattifying lotion.

*Clearasil: Total Control All Day Mattifying Moisturizer SPF 10 under$10
*Neutrogena UltraSheer Dry-Touch Sunblock, SPF 30 under$10

They are not "moisturizer" but rather matte moisturizer+sunscreen.

The one that I use is Shiseido pureness mattifying moisturizer $20-22. I couldn't remember the exact price. It is not greasy and absorbs extremely well.

Two more brands...(can buy both at sephora.com or at any department store)
DDF Tinted Mattifying Defense SPF 15 $30+
Dior iOd Matte Aqua Fluid $20+

So are there any mattifying moisturizers with AHA? That would be really great. =D>

Mattifying lotion is just lotion with minimal oil content. Some contain talc as oil absorbant, some use alcohol.

If you want extremely light weight AHA moisturizer....here they are:
(gotta warn you first....they are extremely lightweight, absorb very fast, not greasy....but they are not cheap)

-Peter Thomas roth AHA12% hydrating ceramide repair gel $45 for 2 oz.
-Neostrata Cionic face serum PHA10 $45 for 1 oz.
-Exuviance by neostrata (this is the one I like) Vespera bionic serum $55 for 1 oz.
-DDF Glycolic Gel 10% For Oily Skin $35
-Total skin care Glycolic Gel $30 for 2 oz.

This one is not gel type but it is not too oily, unlike alpha hydrox which can be too oily for some.
-Murad Skin Perfecting Lotion .....I don't remember the price but I think it is under $30

Origins makes a really good mattifying gel type moisturizer...you can buy it at the mall. I can't remember exactly what it's called and I'm too lazy to go upstairs and get the bottle right now. I'll check back tomorrow w/ the name. biggrin.gif
shiver me timbers!

Clean & Clear has a new lotion called "Clean & Clear Oil-Free Shine Control Moisturizer." The lotion contains micro-beads that absorb oil. I've been using it for about a week and it's pretty good. It's really cheap too, only around 4 bucks.

Eucerin makes a sensative skin moisturizer + sunscreen that dries really matte. It's almost like water. I don't know if it qualifies as a "mattifying moisturizer" though. I think it's cheap as well, check drugstore.com.

neutrogena sells a semi-matte moisturizer, but it doesn't contain sunscreen. It's for combination skin. About $14 CDN. I don't recommend using it with BP cream since it just all balls off. I use it for those days when i wake up late and don't have time to wait for the BP to dry. Using this moisturizer makes make-up look less fake. I find sunscreen make it change colours.
