Will a 16 year old still see results on the regimen? As acne is really starting to effect my confidence now (and crap supplies are effecting my wallet) and all treatments seem to fail!
I've tried anti-biotics and azeliac acid aswell as numerous cleansers - and I'm starting to believe the regimen is kind of my last hope - Is it worth trying or will it not help with hormonal acne? Tom

I have had enough of the spots that are covering my chin (white heads and very red bumps) and have decided to ask for help finding the cause. It only seems to be my chin that is suffering so I think it must be a reaction - but have no idea what is causing it.
I wash my face twice a day with a clean & clear face wash, then apply azeliac acid very generously and take lymecycline anti biotics - but they just won't clear! They have reduced slightly but are still clearly visible - and it means I can't shave so I'm begining to feel like a tramp I'm only 16, and everyone I've asked has blamed my age - but surely if this was the case I'd get spots elsewhere too? I have recently stopped drinking milk, use a differant towel to dry my face and change my bedding regularly but the effects have been minimal - any suggestions? I would be able to post pictures if you want to see the exact type of acne I have. EDIT - It's pustules and nodules have got on my chin

I'm considering taking ZMA as I've heard it helps you to get a deeper sleep (I'm currently getting 9/10 hours a night and I think having a deeper sleep will meen I can sleep less?) and the zinc helps prevent acne.
Is there any truth in this - as these are two things that have been causing me distress lately. Also can it be used continuously with no negative side effects by a teenager? Thanks.

I've recently stopped drinking milk (Natural yogurt is now my only dairy food) but I really miss it, is soya milk likely to cause acne or is it ok?

Hi. My name is Tom, I'm 16 and I'm desperatly looking for ways to prevent spots! I was using tetracyline for over a year but stopped a few months ago as I wasn't keen on taking prescription drugs permanently. During this course I did clear up considerably and I was using azeliac acid aswell.
My problems then got alot worse as spots appeared frequently (Not helped by splitting up with my girlfriend) and this has really damaged my confidence. I've always been really outgoing and lively but recently I've rarely gone out due to my spots and my social life has really suffered because of it. It's mentioning that my chin is the worst place for spots, it's almost a mountain range! Within the last month I've tried franticly to solve my problem by using: - Johnsons baby oil to wash my face twice daily - Clean & Clear face wash once daily - Applying azeliac acid twice daily - Taking one lymecycline tablet a day But I'm still not clear - and would really like to get off the tablets, so if you can advise other products to use I would really appreciate it. Lots of people tell me "It's just your age" but none of my mates suffer, and my mum (who's 39) is still on medication for spots. Is there any other members of a similar age that have succeded in clearing up? I've also upped my water intake and cleaned up my diet to no avail. Really hoping that I can learn from other members on here, and regain my confidence aswell as my social life! Tom - Wales, UK |
