So I know most of you have seen "rectal bleeding" under the "serious side effects" list, and that you should tell your doctor immediately. But I can't seem to find anywhere why it happens. Is it because your anus is made up of mucosa, like your nose and lips, and gets dried out and becomes fragile? I'm about to stop treatment in like, two days, and I have had rectal bleeding probably everyday for most of my treatment. My doctor asked me if I had experienced this and I just said no because I figured it was just hemorrhoids. I know its sad, but I'd rather have painful BM's once a day than acne the rest of my life. Thanks yall!
maybe it'll go away after I stop ?? steph

I've been on amnesteem 80 mgs a day for nearly 2 months. A few weeks ago I woke up with really bad right shoulder pain. I thought I just slept on it weird and I figured it'll go away in a few days. Well it's been at least two weeks now and my shoulder is still killing me. Do y'all think it's related to accutane? Should I tell my derm? What can I do to relieve the pain?

Hi! My name is Steph, I'm 19 years old, female, 120 lbs, 5'2"
I've had acne since I was 9 that has progressively gotten worse, especially in the past year and a half. I've tried a whole mess of things including many OTC products, proactive, retin-a micro, duac, doxycycline, tetracycline, ortho tri-cyclin lo, clinique, as well as many natural remedies like zinc supplements and stinky tea tree oil (which I'm sad to say worked better than ALL the rest) I've even tried to not use any fabric softener at ALL (to help with bacne), using organic facial cleansers/toners/lotions and makeup, yoga and other relaxation techniques to combat stress, exercise, nothing does it. so now I'm here to say I've finally gave up, I'm starting accutane in a month, my appointment is on April 21st, I've already did my first preg. test and did the initial paperwork for ipledge... and my psych gave me the green-light where I have borderline personality disorder, depression, anxiety, as well as a few other head-problems that I'm currently being treated for. here are pics of my experience from the last few months. I have my photobucket organized in a way that if you click the folders on the left hand side of the screen, the pictures are divided into folders of the day of which they were taken on. here's the link: http://photobucket.com/stephie6116 here are the medicines I'm currently taking: fish oil multivitamin orthotricyclin lo allegra nexium prozac 20 mg ferrous sulfate (iron supplement for iron-deficiency anemia) xanax 0.5 mg (as needed) so that is my initial post! If only the days would fly by until the 21st!!! thanks, steph

ok here's my stats: I'm 19, I've had acne since I was NINE years old... and it's only gotten worse this past year...
here are some pics of my acne (if yall are interested) http://photobucket.com/stephie6116 sorry i haven't took any pics the past two months, too busy! there's a list on the left hand side of different dates (i kept getting all the pictures mixed up) Today I went and told my dermatologist I'm sick of trying every single thing to fix my acne with no results... and I want to go on accutane... she went ahead and got my first pregnancy test and enrolled me in iPledge. But I told her I found out a few weeks ago that I might have Borderline Personality Disorder from my therapist. I don't go to see my actual Psychiatrist until this Thursday to talk to him about it and do an evaluation. My dermatologist is going to call him Thursday to ask for his approval on whether or not I can handle accutane (from the emotional standpoint)... Does anyone here know any about this? I know a lot of people don't know about BPD but its kind of like being bipolar only different in certain areas. Sorry I can't give more information I'm still having a hard time understanding it myself. I really want to just fix my acne for good and I would hate for this to get in the way. Thanks for yalls input, I appreciate it. steph <3
