[minus the star, because if i don't put in the star it won't let me see the link, don't know why.] but yeah, has anyone actually tried this? i'm tempted to head over to walgreen's tonight and get that panoxyl stuff and try this for a week. i'm so desperate. this stuff bleaches clothes, i'm assuming? so i'll have to wear old t-shirts that i don't care for, for a week? but yeah if you tried doing this, please post here and tell me how it went! were your bacne scars all gone? i'm pretty sure i'm going to start this tonight. does it hurt, or just itch? how would you keep from scratching? |

Make sure you use the actual gel wash, not the foaming crap >.>

That's the one I used, but it didn't have the peeling effect so I just went to walgreens today and exchanged the foaming wash for the bar version instead which people have said works better for peeling. I'm going to apply it now...

Well, from what I understand people have been using 3 products: the bar, foaming wash, and the gel. According to the other people,
The foaming wash is the least effective and doesn't make the skin peel. Bar has mixed results The Gel is the most effective but isn't sold in USA.

It's really quite simple. You lather your back up with the bar as much as possible so that your entire back (or just your problem areas) are coated with the lather. Then you let it air dry.

^Yep, mine came in a slightly different box, but it's the exact same thing.
I think the bar version is going to work very well for me because within the first minute of having it slathered all over my back (before it was even dry) it started to feel irritated, and it's been kind of burning/tingling ever since. It's not unbearable and itchy as it's supposed to be, but I've only had it on for hours now. I wonder how I'll feel in the morning...

Yeah, I can't wait until this is over. I woke up this morning and I stretched, and the skin on my shoulder blades hurt very slightly, but it doesn't feel like it's burning anymore like yesterday. I'm going to wash it off and reapply it in a bit. I think my back scars faded 30% since last week, but it's hard to say what did it because I used a combination of panoxyl foaming wash, head & shoulders shampoo, and apple cider vinegar within the last week (not all at once, of course!)... I think the ACV really helped, so if this peeling thing fails, I'll just go back to using that.

I think people stop before it actually starts to work, so keep at it!

Crazian, have you ever done this before?
For me, it's day 3 and wow... there are now some reddish-brown patches on my back. It looks kind of freaky. They don't seem to be peeling or flaking (yet? I hope they do!), they just look like chemical burns. It felt like my back was burning yesterday evening, and I felt discomfort while trying to sleep. I mean, if I tried to move, those patches would really hurt. At 4:33 AM I woke up randomly and tried to go back to sleep, but I decided my back skin burned way too much for me to bear any longer so I decided to go wash it off properly in the shower with cold water (because even slightly warm water still made it burn/hurt). Then I applied some aloe vera gel... ouch!! That made it sting even more in combination with the very cold morning air. So I just washed off the aloe vera gel and applied olay face lotion for sensitive skin all over my back. :/ It's not as painful anymore now that I've washed off all the panoxyl. I'm kind of confused as to why there are some very obvious patches on my back when I applied the panoxyl ALL over my back and made sure every spot got a good coating. Oh well, I'm sure it would have hurt 1000x more if those patches were all over my back. Yikes. I'm just going to stop the panoxyl now and let it heal because I'm wimpy and can't take it anymore, lol. It really does hurt... I'll take pictures later!

dang, that makes me less hopeful. haha. i'm not really sure what to do. prom is next saturday, and i started using the bar last night. so i would have to do this up until next wednesday night, meaning i'd have to go three days into the school week [i'm currently on spring break, and i've pretty much given it up just to do this] i'm not sure if i could last during the school week? i have testing like all tuesday and wednesday. not sure if i could last with all the pain/itching distraction. if i did, i'd end on wednesday night, giving me only two days to heal before prom.
for anyone that has done this, what does your back look like in the healing process? is it ok enough to go in public with it exposed or does it still look pretty awful? |

^It looks AWFUL. If you're going to bare your back in a pretty dress, you probably should wait to do this treatment after prom because it's going to need more than 2 days to heal (more like 1-2 weeks). I know that kind of defeats the purpose, but you could always get some heavy makeup to cover your exposed areas for the occasion, and then do the peel when no one has to see it. You can witness how terrible the red, dry patches look if you look at my gallery in a bit... I just uploaded some pictures, and they're waiting to be approved.

The pictures have been approved! Go look at the freakiness.
I was checking out my back a few minutes ago and nothing hurts anymore. The red patches look like they're about ready to be exfoliated off. I'll just wait a couple more days until I do that though.
