Hello all!
Hahaha I really don't know what to say now. I've been reading the site for a while and thought I should probably sign up as there was no reason not to. I have had acne for the last 2 years or so but it has really got worse within the last year or so. It didn't used to be as bad but I now for some reason have what I think is Rosacea (probably steroid induced as I used to apply Eumovate, though that was a little before it really came up, maybe takes a while to become noticeable?) and that makes the acne itself look a lot worse. Trouble is that my GPs have never diagnosed me with it, and only recently have I realised what I have. When I mentioned the possibility of it to the GP last time they brushed it off and assured me that Rosacea only appears in people over the age of 30 (I'm 18 myself). I know this is possibly going a little off-topic from introducing myself but I figured while I'm here I may as well talk about everything at once. So ANYWAY, I've been on 30mg of Roaccutane for the last 10 days and my acne seems a little better but my Rosacea definitely seems a little redder and possibly more inflamed. I was just wondering really if that is normal when taking Roaccutane for Rosacea too? It gets worse before it gets better? It's so annoying taking it for acne and having Rosacea there too as obviously I am currently reading everything I possibly can on the Roaccutane and understand that it can induce Rosacea itself in 'high doses'. However, if I do contact my GP soon and get put onto say, a 10mg dose, the odds are my acne will return at the end of the course, correct? I really don't know what to do and could do with peoples advice on here. A topic I enjoy is the pinned one in the Rosacea and Facial Redness where the person explains how they were on 120mg towards the end of their course and it cleared up the Rosacea fantastically, that is sort of a source of inspiration at the moment. Anyway I'm really rambling now and I'm sure I've bored you all to death so I'm sorry haha. Replies on the matter would be much appreciated! Thankyou! |
